90210 Redux--This time, the clothes are even better

The Thread celebrates our lucky episode thirteen by traveling back to a familiar zip code, 90210. The CW has unleashed a tide of 90210 nostalgia for the return of the popular drama, but THE THREAD is looking to the future as we spot some great trends in the season premiere. Check it out!

Statement jewelry is so wonderfully dramatic. These large, layered and colorful necklaces can add a fun element to anything from a cocktail dress to a t-shirt. And right now celebrities can't seem to get enough of them. We tagged Ashlee Simpson in Chanel pearls, Drew Barrymore in Stephen Dweck and Madonna in a multi-layered Givenchy. Margo Morrison's precious stones and pearl creations have been spotted on Brooke Shields, Sharon Stone and Julia Roberts. But Blake Lively topped them all, when she layered 10 strands (worth $5000) of Morrison's jewelry for a recent event!

While some necklaces are super-expensive there are plenty of lower priced alternatives that let you get a similar look all your own for a lot less. Watch how we take the $640 T.Cyia statement necklace from the new 90210 and let it inspire our necklace-for-less option. It's actually a combination of two necklaces, one from Express and one necklace from Charlotte Russe, all for just $74.00

Our second look-for-less option pairs a $34.50 necklace from Express layered with a $6.90 necklace from H&M (sold at store locations).

And just as a new set of celebrity babies made their debut, we thought we'd finish the summer by toasting five fabulous Hollywood Moms, including new moms Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie. The other three moms on our list just might surprise you. . .

Thanks for checking out The Thread. We'll be back again soon from our studio in Planet Hollywood with a new episode celebrating "one shoulder dresses and Taylor Swift."

In the meantime, if there's anything you see that you'd like us to help you find, post some comments below or send me an email to sar_bernard@yahoo.com.

And special thanks to veteran costume designer Debra McGuire, whose work will be seen on 90210 all season.

I would never spend seventy-four dollars on necklaces, let alone six-hundred and forty.

I guess whatever you feel is important to spend your money on. There is always someone out there to take your money on worthless junk called fashion.
