Can You Believe These Women's Hair?

I've always been a
bit squeamish when it comes to coloring my hair. It seems so much
more drastic than a cut, although it's probably easier to fix a
bad dye job (
like
one of these) than a bad hair cut (
as
these photos would show).
But it turns out hair color really isn't scary,
as these women prove. They're just average Janes like you
and me and they managed to get amazing results from at-home color.

I've been dying my hair at home since I started highschool so long ago. it really isn't as bad as some would make you think. As long as you read the directions and make sure to cover everything completely, then there's no problem.

I'm gonna just say it. This whole page is just a ad for clairol. If you want to sell a product and endorse it, then do it. PLease don't pretend you are trying to give beauty tips.

Totally an ad for Clairol. In the before pics, the women's hair is mussed and they're not wearing makeup. I look better when I style my hair and put on makeup - most women do.
How absurd.

For the first time since coming to this site, I must say...
This is a total campaign for Clairol! I'm just suprised they didn't have a black woman up there saying how much she loves Clairol...
It would've made the promo complete!
Hummm...
I would like to suggest-as a way to keep those of us who love Shine coming back-to never do this again. We all make mistakes and I believe this is a mistake on Shine's part. Just a thought...

The first one looks nice. However, each example shows them going a little DARKER than their "before" shade. I think more people lighten their hair than darken it, because normally darker shades tend to be more severe and aging on a lot of people (not all of course). I for one have been lightening my hair to blonde for 15 years...with Loreal Les Blondissimes products! And I get comments all the time about how either: 1. they can't believe my hair is color-treated, they thought it was my natural color, or 2. they can't believe I color it at home, it looks like it was done in a salon. Also, these only show a little bit different shades...many people prefer a more extreme change, and yes, it CAN be done at home if you follow the instructions and note the before and after samples on the box that correspond with your before color.

Yeah...the last before pic is horrendous...who allows themselves to be photographed looking like that??? Even when I need my highlights touched up or my hair trimmed, I do not just stop brushing my hair or wearing make up...LOL

I went from medium golden blond to dark chocolate brown two years ago and it was awesome! I had just gotten a really cute layered haircut and the color made it totally different, I loved it. I think at home color works well for people going from light to dark because it's not as hard on your hair and you have to color more often. The really fine white-blond hair around my hairline would start to show in about 2 weeks and looked I was going gray, lol.
I'm back to dark blond now but I still wish I had really dark hair.
