Do You Shampoo After the Gym?

Last week, we posted about Kim Kardashian's five days without shampoo. Readers thought that was too long to go (so did Kim!) and raised some dirty hair questions. We asked hairstylist Sally Hershberger (who btw, believes in every other day cleansing) to answer them.

What can daily gym goers do to keep their unwashed hair from looking and feeling gross after a workout?
Before you start exercising, put your hair on top of your head in a ponytail or bun. And use a wide headband to keep sweat from dirtying the hair.

When hairstylists say "You don't need to wash your hair everyday" do they mean you shouldn't wet it?
No, you can wet it. That's fine.

Is there a benefit to rinsing but not shampooing?
Rinsing is less drying than shampooing.

In a rush? Check out these 5 tips for looking great in no time.

When should you use dry shampoo and when will baby powder do?
They both have the same effect. Just sprinkle or spray on roots whenever they are oily. Both will also give your hair more volume by lifting the roots.

Since brushing distributes oil from your scalp to your hair, should I brush more on a day when I'm not washing it, to make my roots look less oily and the rest of my hair shinier—or will doing that just make my whole head look drenched?
Brushing the oil into the rest of your hair will make it look greasy as well.

I got mad love for grease! I love waking up in the morning and smelling my hair when it's at it's dirtiest! It's comforting

I'd rather just cloth wash and go home and shower....much safer there.

Um, does anyone find any problem with this photo? I realize she's photographed with her body angled, but seriously, after all the hype about the Ralph Lauren model, here's another one that looks disproportionately thin. Ridiculous.

When should you use dry shampoo and when will baby powder do?

Well for starters, if you have dark hair you should probably go for the dry shampoo in a shade matching your own hair cuz baby powder can end up looking a lot like dandruff!
