1. Gentle Cleansers

Less: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, $8

Luxe: CellCeuticals Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser, $35

Ingredients in action
Both cleansers are non-irritating, non-comedogenic and contain gentle, non-soap dirt lifters and moisturizers (like glyceryl cocoate in the pricier version) to gently clean skin.

And the winner is
The pricier version is chock-full of additional humectants (like glycerin) to help water bind to skin and moisturizers (amino acids), but the drugstore brand's simplistic formula and dirt-cheap price tag are why derms continue to recommend it.

See what's worth the splurge here.

You know what really sticks in my craw? When I find out Dove anti-aging eye cream works just as well as Lancome (which costs $20-$40 more). Don't believe it? This side-by-side comparison ought to convince you ... and if not, these before-and-after photos will.

Dude, ugh, $38 for a scrub? I just can't do it. I just use a washcloth; that's the best exfoliator out there.

Rumor has it that the CVS signature brand ultra moisturizing cream is identical to Creme de la Mer. I have yet to try it. $13.99 @ CVS.

I swear by cetaphil! It's the only thing my sensitive skin loves. for the morning, I use the daily facila cleanser for normal skin and follow with the daily moisturizer with SPF. at night, I cleanse (and remove makeup) with the daily gentle cleanser for sensitive skin, but the trick with that is to not wash it off. let it softenfor a few minutes, then wipe off with a washcloth. it softens and cleanses gently. my skin has never been smoother and softer!!

HUH? do you work for CVS? I am going to try this because I have tried Creme De La Mer and it is GREAT. I will let you all know if it is even comparable if NOT then it will go back to CVS.

I tend to love the Garnier face care products. They're cheap, work well and smell great. I especially like the face wipes for taking off make-up at night when I'm feeling too lazy for my usual face washing ritual. They are really gentle, but effective!
