Fashion that makes us sad: Booty Pop panties

I'm kind of late to the party on this one, but a few days ago a bunch of bloggers discovered that Paula Abdul's stylist (what a job that must be, seriously), Jennifer Rosenblatt, is endorsing a new brand of padded underwear called Booty Pop—"The Panties That Make Your Booty Pop."
Now, I personally can't fathom a woman who would want extra butt padding, but Rosenblatt can: many of her celeb clients tragically do not have enough behind to fill out their designer jeans. Hence, Booty Pop. It comes in three sizes (Sweet, Sweeter, Sweetest) and seven colors (including Cotton Candy and Gum Drops) and feels weirdly—even though its giving you a more womanly shape—totally infantilizing. Ladies should be happy with their body! And if they aren't, then try working out and eating right! How would you feel if you were wearing these and you were changing in a locker room, or about to, for whatever reason, take your clothes off in front of a man...or woman. How embarrassing!

I guess it's no different than wearing a miracle bra - which also has padding . . .

I think they're great! Donny Deutsch covered it on the Big Idea on CNBC. Looks like they're going to be quite a hit.

I have to agree with the stylist on this one. I honestly am very self concious about my butt; I have none! I don't think people realize that it's just as difficult to find jeans when you don't have a butt as it is when you have too much butt! It would just be nice to be able to fill out the rear end of my cute pants.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that society is so obsessed with their appearance. if you don't have a bubble butt, except it and move on with your life. those of us (like me) who are blessed with one would like the right to flaunt it. let's keep it real people. I say nay to booty pop.

Hey maybe it will help the women (which I can't stand to see - don't they own a mirror) who have their jeans ride up/into their but cheeks. This might keep that seam from somehow getting into their cracks. It's horrible to see this especially in jeans come on can't you feel that seam there? These are sometimes the people who allow the front of their pants to ride too. Oh well to each his own! I've got too much junk in the trunk and just deal with it we're all made differently and beautifully.
