Fashion that makes us sad: Jessica Alba's perfect body airbrushed to something skinnier

The Daily Mail is reporting this morning that, in her new ads for Campari, the gorgeous, sexy, semi-real-looking actress Jessica Alba's body was airbrushed to appear small-waisted, big-boobed and essentially like my a first Barbie doll. Or a rib-less woman wearing a torture-device corset. Or a comic-book heroine. Or basically nothing like an actual, walking-on-the-planet now female form. After the jump, check out the before and after ads. It seems photo retouchers slimmed down Alba's thighs, chin, waist and added more makeup to her face and flesh to her boobs. Sigh.

Not even fashion models can actually look like fashion models, yet women are pressured constantly to live up to that image. It's sad when some people think getting down to a "healthy" weight means low enough women have trouble menstruating or lifting anything heavier then five pounds. That seems the exact opposite of healthy.

they slimmed down her legs so much they're not even natural looking. gross.

i like how they also made her hair look wet and added more of it in. that doesn't exactly look "natural", either.

It's really sad that having ribs makes you look "fat," so they have to be airbrushed out. There's no way that airbrushed Jessica could have a skeleton big enough to support her body. Since when is being so skinny you can see all your ribs not skinny enough? Ugh.

She's undergone a whole new transformation:

    1. More tan

    2. Slimmer Legs

    3. More hair

    4. More dramatic Make up

    5. Bigger boobs

    6. Smaller waist

    7. Smaller hips

I personallly see nothing wrong with the BEFORE picture..

I look forward to the day when we can all sit at home in virtual reality living in digitized bodies - then we can all be Photoshop beautiful! /sarcasm off

Srsly...She's so pretty - why'd they do that?

I sure wish I owned stock in spray tan. They sure put a dose on Jessica. Allure magazine said Dancing W the Stars goes through 150 gallons in one season. So many of these girls like Jessica are such natural beauties.. why mess with a good thing?

It's aggravating that we live in such a fake world. I work in a department store and every single picture in our displays are fake. It's someone elses head on someone else's neck on someone elses shoulders....etc. There are computer programs costing millions that are designed to do one thing: put the peach fuzz back on conglomerate models. It's a sick, sick world.
