Fashion That Makes Us Sad: These shoes

So, the Spring 2009 fashion shows continue this week in Europe and, man, things are getting even weirder. Case in point: The Huffington Post has a slideshow this morning of the "exotic" footwear being shown on the runways. Among the awesome creations are sneakers that tie up to your crotch, satin espadrille boots, see-through man shoes and, my favorite of all, sole-free high heels  by Aminaka Wilmont (seen at London Fashion Week).

some shoes are obviously created strictly for the runway...and not meant to be the "latest thing". Like Chispitaroja mentioned, you couldn't wear them out anywhere. There are health codes that require shoes to be worn in public places.

The floral platforms are cool looking, but are in no way practical. None of these are. And the see-through men's boots!?!?! Please, those are disgusting.

All of those are extremely ugly, impractical, and downright scary. Especially the lace-up men's boots. After looking at some other fashion week articles, I have to wonder what fashion for men means. I mean, if I saw my man wearing clear plastic boots or a scary jumpsuit tu-tu monstrosity, I would take him to get mental help.

Gotta agree w/ Becca. Yuck! I don't need to see a man's sweaty feet and hairy legs through clear plastic. And the thigh high converse are ridiculous. None of those shoes are practical, some look painful. I'm glad these are just for creativity on the runway and not everyday wear.
