Fashion That Makes Us Sad: These shoes

So, the Spring 2009 fashion shows continue this week in Europe and, man, things are getting even weirder. Case in point: The Huffington Post has a slideshow this morning of the "exotic" footwear being shown on the runways. Among the awesome creations are sneakers that tie up to your crotch, satin espadrille boots, see-through man shoes and, my favorite of all, sole-free high heels  by Aminaka Wilmont (seen at London Fashion Week).

I actually liked some of them-the shoes with the flowers, for instance- even though they're not practical. I could maybe see the converse on somebody if they were just boots and not thigh highs- they are probably really comfy. The bondage, naked toes shoes are ridiculous- I don't think I would even wear them in the bedroom.

I have to agree with all of you on these shoes. None of them are practical for everyday life. Lol imagine trying to chase your children! That is a vision that shouldn't be. Imagine their backs, knees and hips. By the time the runway show is over. The models will need chiropractors to put everything back into place. Sheesh! Will someone get real here and give us something that looks great, but is practical!

As a person that finds a pair of high heels to be foot torture, I can't eve imagine wearing any of those shoes. The soleless-heels were the worse of the bunch. Are there really women out there dumb enough to destroy their feet for the sake of fashion? I hope not.

I could see those crotch-high sneaks being popular with those little emo kids who are running around these days. I can tell you, for a fact, that my cousins would own them lol.

But the fact that they're 11 and 14 and look like pandas on heroin is a huge indicator that they have no fashion sense whatsoever. So...
