Fashion's Night Out Gives Back Guide
If you're like many people who find themselves left off NYC's fashion show guest list you can still raid the events this September 10th as part of Fashion's Night Out. An event where numerous stores in the area stay open late (11 PM) and provide interesting meet & greets, special events and drinks galore, the only problem might be how to schedule it all. For a fun guide check out racked's Guide To Fashion's Night Out: Top Freebies. Here I wanted to provide a guide for those looking for something a tad deeper (or at the very least a little less guilty). Namely shopping for a cause and giving back. Here are some events you'll want to hit up:
Keep an eye out for...
As you traipse around the city keep an eye out for a specially designed T-Shirt that you will be able to purchase at various participating venues, for around $30. Along with being a cute souvenir and piece of memorabilia (remember things might take a dramatic shift in the next couple of years!), proceeds from each shirt sold will go to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.
Also offering a way to give back to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center on Fashion's Night Out '09 is Payless who will be selling a swank black tote bag for $10 with the same NYC cityscape as seen on the above Fashion Night Out shirts. Look for it September 10th at 3 of their NYC stores: 716 Lexington Ave., 437 Fifth Ave. and 513 Broadway in Soho, along with 50 participating stores.
American Apparel has also designed a tote bag for Fashion's Night Out to benefit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This time, it's in white and super huge, it will give 20% of proceeds to the charity compared to Payless' 50%.
As seen in InStyle be sure to keep a lookout for Kyle's Treehouse and the Fashion for Autism Campaign. For $30 you can purchase an amazing hand silk screened shirt designed by Kyle Westphal online or make a donation of at least $100 at the tents for a one of a kind design. Proceeds will go to Kyle's Treehouse--helping children with Autism.
