Majority of people would go... "Wow, I'll definitely buy
that gorgeous pair of sandal." or "Yes, I'm going to
spend it on this new touch-screen phone I found."
As for me, it's definitely different. Instead of spending it, I
would go... "I can't wait to make that trip to the bank
for the (savings) deposit." Obsessive-compulsive? I have no
idea. Believe it or not, I really feel guilty on splurges; even
though it's a treat for oneself.
When there are instances that I really have to make a treat, aside
from the guilt feeling which is no fun at all, I tend to
"double-save" right after the expense. It means that if
my usual savings is around a $100, I tend to make it up to around
$200 just to make myself feel at ease, secure and satisfied. As a
result, it jeopardizes my current budget system.
Am I alone in this kind of reaction or is there someone
experiencing the same thing?
Is this normal or more like a psychological disorder? Are you also
feeling "the guilt" when treating oneself?
