Feeling the Guilt When Treating Oneself

Majority of people would go... "Wow, I'll definitely buy that gorgeous pair of sandal." or "Yes, I'm going to spend it on this new touch-screen phone I found."

As for me, it's definitely different. Instead of spending it, I would go... "I can't wait to make that trip to the bank for the (savings) deposit." Obsessive-compulsive? I have no idea. Believe it or not, I really feel guilty on splurges; even though it's a treat for oneself.

When there are instances that I really have to make a treat, aside from the guilt feeling which is no fun at all, I tend to "double-save" right after the expense. It means that if my usual savings is around a $100, I tend to make it up to around $200 just to make myself feel at ease, secure and satisfied. As a result, it jeopardizes my current budget system.

Am I alone in this kind of reaction or is there someone experiencing the same thing?

Is this normal or more like a psychological disorder? Are you also feeling "the guilt" when treating oneself?
