Glamour's 50 Most Glamourous Women of 2008

Glamour's panel of style experts and their June cover girl, Jessica Simpson, nominated them. Then the readers voted on glamour.com. So who most defines chic this year? The list starts here!

50) Victoria Beckham
She's gone from Spice Girl to L.A. royal. "I admire Posh for taking care of herself. I'm sick of PJs in public," says Glamour reader Tara James.

49) Linda Evangelista
Two decades after her runway-stomping days, she's still "a chameleon," says celebrity hairstylist Serge Normant. "She makes every look her own."

48) Lauren Hutton
She paved the way for unconventional, real-woman beauty (so big this year) with her gap-tooth smile. Says Senior VP of IMG Models Ivan Bart: "She's all-American.

47) Kate Hudson
Glamour readers love this single-mom superstar. "She always looks like herself, not like a stylist put her together," says Glamour's Fashion Director Xanthipi Joannides.

46) Jennifer Connelly
Glamour's office girl crush is the face of the Balenciaga campaign. "She's an all-time star: elegant, classic, yet also quite sensual," says Normant.

45) Diane Kruger
This under-the-radar German actress is a fave of Karl Lagerfeld's--who are we to argue? "She has a European style sensibility," says Joannides

44) Annette Bening
"Annette has panache!" says fashion designer Zac Posen. Notorious playboy Warren Beatty was one smart man when he nabbed her 16 years ago.

43) Agyness Deyn
Virtually an unknown model just a year ago. Now: "Deyn has the best personal style of anyone," says Joannides.

42) Reese Witherspoon
With Jake at her side, the quintessential girl next door looks happier, and chicer, than ever! "She's got an innate sense of style, confidence and Southern grace," says Glamour reader Colleen Burton.

41) Heidi Klum
More popular than ever this year, the Project Runway star never says Auf wiedersehen to great style. "Her drive has made her a success, and her family adds to a picture-perfect life," says Bart.

40) Catherine Zeta-Jones
Five years after Chicago, she's still capital-S sexy in an LBD. "She always looks amazing, glam and age-appropriate ," says Glamour reader Kelly Noyes.

I'm glad to see some women with real personal style on there, like Agyness Deyn, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Marion Cotillard. Anyone can look chic with the help of a stylist, but its the ladies who dress themselves and take risks who deserve commendation!

I don't pay attention to them. So many glamourous women would never make a list like this because they chose a life that wasn't wrapped up in celebrity. And glamour isn't nearly as important as a good heart...which has very little to do with glamour and everything to do with real beauty.

I don't think most of their choices weren't that bad except for some of the models I'd never heard of and Posh Spice. Posh Spice is borderline anorexic with breast implants the size of grapefruits. She's also a perpetual state of Oompa Loompa orange fake tan. Most of her "beauty" is fake. There is nothing glamourous about that. At least they put a few women over the age of 35 on the list. It was nice seeing women like Cate Blanchett, Catherine Deneuve, Lauren Hutton and Catherine Zeta-Jones on the list.
