Goodbye hellish red bumps! Three products to guarantee you’ll never have an ingrown hair again (well maybe one)

Honesty, how annoying is crotch maintenance? There's the taking care of it (by whatever means, all obnoxious), the three minutes where it's smooth and nice, the itchy, uncomfortable sprout period and then the taking care of it again. And this is leaving aside the worst part of all—the hideous, scary, why-is-this-happening-to-me-Oh-Lord-I-just
-wanted-to-look-cute-in-a-bathing-suit red bumps. Much like my period, I've been in denial about these fiery blemishes for about, I don't know, 20 years? Every time they appear I just feel mad inside, and also a little like a lady failure. I've tried everything, and by everything I mean shaving with conditioner and then moisturizing with Vaseline afterwards because I heard that works from one of the prostitutes on that HBO show Cat House. It's doesn't.

Red bumps not sexy. Me lazy.

What to do?

OK. After careful research, here are three products that actually get the job done. They're not cheap, but you should pick one and buy it. And buy it again when you're through with it—not just live the smooth and high life for a month and then wonder why your bikini area suddenly looks like it's been nuzzling with Daniel Day-Lewis. This is a big lesson I'm learning with this whole body maintenance thing: you have to be consistent.

Whish Flawless Bump Fighter, $22.50
Both a preventative treatment, and once you get them, this ACTUALLY MAKES THEM GO AWAY. Word.

Tend Skin Liquid Solution, $20
I bought this for a an ex-boyfriend once, then used the whole thing myself. And my bikini area was blemish free! For weeks! And then for some unknown reason, I never bought it again.

Art of Shaving Ingrown Hair Night cream, $40
My fancy beauty friends swear by this super-rich cream. It's definitely a little heavy and a nighttime thing, but the results are awesome.

I found that anything that exfoliates, especially with AHA/BHA works awesome. Death to ingrown hairs!

I know it sounds crazy and it may not be safe because I am sure it hasn't been researched, but I learned to apply underarm deodorant to my bikini line after I shave. Like Dove or Secret keeps your underarms from getting bumps it works the same way. When you sweat down there, moisture gets in your hair follicles and causes a bump. It works for me at least. Been doing it for over 10 years now.

I'll stick with the bumps or find an all natural organic way to rid myself of the redness and bumps. Those prices are crazy! and what chemicals and such are in them?
