Gorgeous, unique, inexpensive—MIT chicks make jewelry

Nervous System is a beautiful, new-ish line of jewelry that's fun, unexpected and striking. I love every one of its delicate earrings, big-but-airy necklaces, artsy-looking cuffs and I especially love the label's back story. The designers, Jessica Eve Rosenkrantz and Jesse Louis-Rosenberg, are math and science devotees who met when they were students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Jessica: Architecture and Biology, Jesse: Mathematics and Computer Science. Take that!). Their collection is made from not-the-norm materials like silicone rubber and stainless steel and put through some tech-y process called "pattern generating algorhythms". The resulting items look like little modern sculptures and most of them cost around $50. Check them out at n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com
