Halo by Wacoal: A strapless bra that really holds up

In your comments the other day, a few of you raised the issue of what kind of bra to wear with a bare summer dress. It's an excellent question, since most strapless bras are either overly padded and/or constantly slip down your rib cage. After years of searching, the best I've found is this Halo style by Wacoal. It's made of seamless stretch lace with underwire for support and the edges are lined with silicone beading, which really helps the thing stay put while you're wearing it.

That said, I am stumped as to what kind of undergarment would work for a dress with a really low back. I'm curious about those adhesive strapless, backless bras, but to be honest, they kind of scare me: If they're really meant to stick to you, could they possibly be easy (or painless!) to take off? This nylon style from Gap looks relatively innocuous; more befuddling is the chicken-cutlet-esque rubber one that a salesgirl tried to push on me once upon a time in a lingerie department. Can any of you vouch for them? Or is there some other kind of miraculous strapless bra you've tried that you can't live without?

For the first time, I bought the stick-em bras over the weekend. I'm in a wedding in Aug. and I had to test out the best bra for the strapless dress. I'm a 34-C, but my breasts are unique b/c I've had a breast reduction and so my breasts are wider than they are full (I think that describes them best) LOL. Anyways, barely any regular bras fit me right, so I was worried about the sticky bra-- BUT-- SUCCESS!!

The ones from Victoria's Secret with or without the clip in the middle are both great. I wore them all weekend with regular clothes to test them out and I will definitely be buying a fresh set for the wedding. You can wear them multiple times, but to be safe, a fresh set will be desired for the wedding.

I got several bra straps from MyBraStrap.com with different color gemstones. It solved my problem of showing unsightly bra straps. It looks great with sleeveless or spaghetti strap tops. It's great for cruises.

About the strapless backless bras that stick to you, i wore one with my prom dress and it worked fairly well. They don't provide as much support as i would have liked but it all depends on the placement. They actually are painless to take off, and they don't leave any sticky residues behind. You can even wash them and they stay sticky. =]

I have had this problem before. I had a formal event that i had to go to, and my dress was a backless halter. I am a 36d and i can say, i found an undergarmet that works! I went to JC Penny's to shop for my dress and a strapless bra. I have a large chest, but a small body, its wierd! So whenever i wear a strapless without fail it wants to slide down my ribcage. I found something to wear with a dress. It is like a mini dress for underneath. You put it on like a dress and hook the back like a bra. And for those of you out there with stomach problems (which is most of us) it also provides some support for your belly. It stays on, and you dont even have to worry about falling out or sucking in ur gut, it is great! So thanx JC Penny's
