HELP! I don't know what to do with my curly/straight/wavy hair anymore!

I don't know what category my hair would fall under now.  My hair is naturally curly but I've always hated it because my big round cheeks seem to look bigger when I leave it natural than when I straighten it.  So as any dumb typical teenager hating her natural look I started straightening my hair out with a flat iron on a daily basis.  The results 10 years later?  Dry hair, less hair, and now when I want to leave curls if I'm too lazy or busy to straighten it, they won't stay!  Some parts are curly, some are straight, some are wavy.  I have to mousse it up and put all these other products in my hair, blow dry, and still end up having to use a 1" curling iron for the hair that won't curl up anymore. I want my curls back!  Summer's coming soon and I don't like adding more heat to my hair on hot days because it dries out even more. I wish I never started straightening my hair to begin with so I now I'm stuck with ugly frizzy, damaged curly/straight/wavy hair and I really don't know how to deal with it anymore.  Any suggestions? Tips? HELP!

If your hair is that dry/ damaged you really need to buy a deep conditioning mask and use weekly. If you can adjust your mornings a little by starting earlier to give your hair time to air dry at least most of the way. I would recommend a professional product, look for a salon in your area that would carry Davines products, they are amazing and not any more expensive than any other salan products. Also, if you find a salon with these products ask them about the Davines deep conditioning treatment to get you started, and follow up with the MoMo shampoo and conditioner. This line of hair products come from Italy and the shampoo will not lather like your probably used to but they do a great job cleaning the hair and scalp without the fillers added, which is what creates the lather but does nothing for cleaning of your hair. If you can't find a salon with Davines products, Biolage makes a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and Ban-de-teir ( not sure if I spelled it right or not) has a great hair mud mask. Good luck and I hope this has helped

I will give you a recipe that I use. Mix in a pot 3-4 glasses of water 1 cup of sugar 2 table spoons of glycerine 3 of alcohol 6 of wine vinegar and the white part of 1 egg. The water should be hot when you add the sugar and afterwards add the other ingredients. You can also add 10 drops of your favorite essential oil. After you apply the mix cover your head with a towel and wait for 30 min. Then wash off. Another much easier(cause it requires only a once month application) is to heat (not boil!!) some olive oil, massage your head, wait for 20min with your hair covered and then wash off. I advise you to first do the olive oil treatment to restore the hydration. Leave your hair to rest during the summer and during winter do the lotion...And for god shakes stay away from the iron!! Try to dry your hair only with a towel for a change...By massaging not rubbing!!! As for your curls, after your bath you can use your fingers to make small loops and lift them on the top of your head with some bobby pins. Then blow dry them(not completely)and sleep with the pins on! It works for me...

Oh man, we have the same hair. I think I've thrown mine an extra loop by dyeing it to near death. I'm now deeply in love with bumble and bumbles coconut shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo alone made my hair feel like a million bucks, and the conditioner topped it off. Since I've started using these, I can go curly or strait. I think I'll go wash my hair right now...

I would suggest for all "curly girls" to try a new product that just came out called Deva Curl, it was designed by a "curly girl" named Lorraine Massey who owns Devachan Salon in New York you should definately look into it they are wonderful products!
