Getting some tips from the designers of Valcarcel, in their studio.
1. Know who you are
“Go to stores and look at mannequins,” Peter suggests. What is it
that resonates with you? “Is it edgy, like Barney’s, conservative,
like Anne Taylor, Bohemian like Anthropologie, or preppy, like
Tommy?” Find out and make that the core of your style. “You can
work in a trend every now and then, but keep your style at the
core.”
2. Know your body type
And be realistic as to what works for you. “The minute you start
asking yourself that question, you’re halfway there,” says
Peter.
3. Don’t be a slave to trends.
Be honest with yourself--you're only going to feel good in the
things YOU like!
Here is Valcarcel's Fall 2009 collection. I'm a big fan of their skirt with leggings. Check it out!
So there you have it! What do you think about these tips from Peter and Arianna? Do you have a good sense of personal style? And have you ever needed to readjust your style after major weight-loss, too?
