If you're a professional hockey player (and you ask nicely) you can become an intern at Vogue

I know nothing about hockey, but I do know something about getting a Condé Nast internship—and I know it's hard, like self-esteem breaking hard. But that's not so apparently if you're New York Rangers player Sean Avery. (I'd heard this weird NHL/Vogue rumor a few weeks ago but couldn't really process it. Why does Sean Avery want to work at Vogue? Why does Vogue want Sean Avery? What will the 28 year-old do there? It boggles the mind.) Anyway, now the rumor has been confirmed by the New Yorker of all things. Seems Avery who "is a self-confessed clotheshorse who has been known to give girlfriends advice on how to dress" wanted the job so bad he wrote editor-in-chief Anna Wintour a letter expressing his interest. And now he's starting this summer and will be making copies, messengering couture gowns and (I predict) getting hit on like WHOA. [WWD]
