“In Bloom” is In Season! The New Fragrance from Reese Witherspoon

Just in case you didn’t know, Reese Witherspoon has teamed up with the folks at Avon to create “In Bloom”.  Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Ms. Witherspoon and find out the inspiration behind her new fragrance.  With my new sample bottle in hand, I couldn’t wait to try it out! (I’ve been on a perfume kick lately if you couldn’t tell!)

Let me give you a little background on the fragrance first. This golden colored smell-good comes in an ultra sweet bottle, which is topped off with a blooming glass flower.  Inside you will find top notes (or scents that you smell when you first spray the perfume) of Georgia Peach Tea Leaves and Crisp Leaves. Once the initial scent hits you, then the middle or heart notes come into play, which consist of the white flowers that so inspired Reese – Star Gardenia, Night Blooming Jasmine, and Magical Magnolias.  Finally, the background notes (the scents you smell several hours later) of Cashmere Woods, Hypnotic Florals, and Amber Wood Crystals emerge and last with you all day.

I find this fragrance to be delicate and very feminine.  I don’t like my perfume to be overbearing ( I know I get annoyed when I can smell someone a block away!) yet at the same time I don’t want to put a ton on just so I can smell it!  In Bloom gives a delicate balance between the two extremes which is something I always look for in a fragrance.  It's definitely something I can wear to work as well as out on the town!  It’s soft and sophisticated and I definitely get the sensuality in the perfume that Reese was going for. To  get a male perspective in my reviews, I always run a new fragrance by my very honest fiancé and he definitely gives it a thumbs up!
