Independent woman: Beyoncé treats herself to a $33,161 shopping spree

Beyoncé emerges from her shopping spree without any packages. We're sure she has "people" to deal with that.

Beyoncé emerges from her shopping spree without any packages. We're sure she has "people" to deal with that.

We’re pretty sure Beyoncé Knowles is one of the hardest working people in the entertainment industry and completely recession proof, so if the lady wants to shop, more power to her. She gives to charity and gives back to the economy… plus Ms. Sasha Fierce has an image to uphold! Last weekend, Beyoncé hit up Harvey Nichols in London and spent $33,161 within hours. Um, is this her holiday shopping? Or is this just a random trip to a department store? Since we’re not even sure how to spend that much without buying a car, here’s how her purchases broke down:

  • Christopher Kane's Versus for Versace clutch – $1,368
  • Christopher Kane’s Versus for Versace crystal gladiator sandals – $2,777
  • Rodarte biker jacket – $3,772
  • Moschino safety-pin matador jacket – $4,717
  • Alexander Wang studded Coco bag – $1,360
  • Alexander Wang leather capelet – $945
  • Alexander Wang leather hooded biker jacket – $2,048
  • 13R vintage biker jacket – $2,181
  • Jade Jagger Jezebel tee – starting at $141
  • Philip Lim 3.1 gold sequin tux jacket – $1,310
  • Philip Lim 3.1 cashmere cardigans – $688
  • Erickson Beamon necklace – $1,319
  • Lara Bohinc bracelet – $606
  • Lara Bohinc earrings – $514
  • Eres, Juicy, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Missoni Mare bikinis – from $282

With all the endless freebies sent to her, Beyoncé still enjoys an epic shopping spree. When you can put all this on a charge card on any given day, we wonder what would make a birthday gift or Christmas present special or meaningful. What on earth could husband Jay-Z buy her that would really wow her? Maybe when money is no object, it must have to be something truly from the heart.

Back here in the real world, we would use $33,000 to pay off loans and credit cards, and put the rest towards education, and a whole load of other really important things. And then maybe a little vacation. But if you could make buy yourself or a loved one any absurdly lavish designer item this holiday season, what would it be? [Grazia]

Something about this article creeps me out a little bit. Did someone steal her sales receipt or something?

I have to agree with Leah, this is scary. As far as spending that amount - she can. She earned it so what's the problem?

P.s' Yeah, How did they know all the things she bought?? She can buy whatever she wants, it's her money but yep, it is creepy everybody gets to know exactly what she bought.

We are too materialistic in this country. How many clothes, jewelry, shoes can you have? I'd take the money and travel with family and friends. What this recession has made me realize is that I was buying a bunch of junk I didn't need and that wasn't making me happy. In looking for creative ways to have fun, I have realized that the relationships you build are more important that material goods.

After your basic needs are met, I am not sure the rest really matters. I seriously doubt when people are on their death beds that the one thing they want most is a designer bag, another house, diamonds etc. When elderly members of my family reflect on the happy times of their lives, they talk about experiences not what items they purchased. So I would use the money to try to create more experiences for my memory bank in the future.

I do NOT like this post Joanna! She's a billionaireness and she's entitled to spend her bucks in any manner on any given day on anything she wants. W/O the general public up in her business. Gee did you spy on her or what?

HA! Those of you harping on "hungry people", "years' salary", etc. That's just STUPID. USA is a CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY! She and JayZ are free to earn as much as they can, save it, spend it, give it away. They are NOT RESPONSIBLE for the world hunger or the 23K worker FYI. It is not their DUTY to give their bucks away to anyone less fortunate.

I agree with Leah...this dumb article freaks me OUT! Makes me want to spring into a little "Give it away give it away give it AWAY now..." ..... NOT.

Life is just unfair I guess. Some of us will never have that $4700 Versace Clutch....doesn't mean SHE can't buy it for herself however....
