Outrageous isn’t it? I thought I’d never see the day when someone calls this gorgeous beauty anything other than what she really is-a stunning specimen of a woman by any standards. I guess even she is not off-limits to “she’s too fat” remarks that people callously throw out these days. This time it is not the media that is the culprit as in Jessica Simpson’s case, but the veterans in the fashion industry and that too the ones in Germany where Heidi is originally from that are shooting their mouths off with cheap personal attacks.

“No way,” Joop (64) told BILD. “She is no runway model! Heidi Klum is simply too heavy and has too big a bust. And she always grins so stupidly. That is not avant-garde – that is commercial!”
I know it’s fantastic. But it doesn’t stop there. Head of Louisa Models, Louisa von Minckwitz said:
“Heidi has hips and voluptuous curves. Ideal measurements for a catwalk model are 87-58-88."
He also thinks she is too short.
“At 1.76 metres she is five centimetres too short. But, despite everything, she is a dream woman, an advertising icon and a superstar.”
It gets even better. Not to be left behind, German born Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld (75) based in Paris adds his piece:
“I don’t know Heidi Klum. She was never known in France . Claudia Schiffer also doesn’t know who she is.”
All this has not deterred Heidi from being a phenomenal success and it shouldn’t. She has posed nude for the German edition of GQ magazine that hits the stands March 2009. She is also the host of Germany ’s Next Top Model and of course the Emmy Award Nominated hostess of Project Runway. All this while being a mom of three children. She is definitely not just skin and bones like your run off the mill couture models. But she is a beautiful, healthy looking role model and the Germans in my opinion should just sit back and be proud of the extraordinary, well deserved success she has enjoyed.
