Is Kate Moss too old to model makeup?

Say what you will about Kate Moss (and obviously you could say a lot), she's still, technically speaking, a good model. And if I've learned anything from my many, many hours of watching America's Next Top Model, being a good model is not something that, you know, comes naturally to just anyone. And perhaps KM's getting a little more airbrushing these days, but she can still sell the bejeezus out of a mascara or a trench or some ridiculous expensive earrings and I still have an irrational inclination to buy all the crap she's selling, even though I don't need it. Ultimately, this seems like a mark of true advertising success.

So, what up Rimmel? Rumors are swirling that the cosmetics company wants to dump Moss because she's too old and get a younger model to represent the brand (rumors also say this younger model could be Agyness Deyn, and well, you all can guess how I feel about that). Kate's 34 years-old, totally ancient in model years, I know. But is she irrelevant? Putting aside the drugs, Pete Doherty and semi-bad new Top Shop collection, is 34 too old to represent a youth-oriented makeup line? Even if you're a style icon? If it is, it makes me very sad. Not if she is doing makeup for drug abusers. I have only found her an insult to humans with no reason to be in modeling unless it's for what staw goes with your coke bag. If you took all that plaster off her face I don't believe she would look healthy. So yes I think she is to drugged up to representant someone young and fresh. Sheesh way don't you ask Amy Winehouse to be on the cover of Women's Health.

I don't think this is like the Darfur crisis or anything, but it's important in the way we view beauty and age. I'm 35. I still buy makeup. Do I have to see makeup sold to me by a 22 year-old?

    You know what I mean?

I think Kate Moss is lovely!!! Rimmel is a young person's make-up isn't it so maybe she will be snapped up by Estee Lauder or Clarins instead.

i happen to think kate moss is extremely pretty, and 34 is not old, they have models way older than that, besides just because a younger model is on the make-up advertisements doesn't mean i am going to buy it more

Pretty much think she's hideous. She's always been too skinny, and on top of that- she's an addict. I want to dream of being beautiful and healthy. I would like to see someone new and exciting.
