Is Your Hairstyle Too Blah?

It's totally understandable to get a little lax with your look in the summer. After all, what's the point of hair and makeup like this if you're just sitting around the pool? But come fall, that whole warm-weather excuse goes away and it's time to bring back a bit of the effort, right?

If you're wondering whether your current look is up to snuff for fall, check out this quiz. Answer a few questions and you'll get feedback on your look, plus tips to give it some oomph. Already know that your look could use a jump-start? Then check out these looks below for inspiration (warning: some are not for the faint of heart!).

Look 1: Messy Updos

Whether it's a low pony or a high bun, keep your texture natural and a few strands loose to perfect this look.

Who it's best for: Medium to long hair (enough to secure into an updo), people with less than five minutes to get ready.

Look 2: Side-Swept Waves

Break out the hot rollers and curling iron for this look (but keep the top of your hair -- near your part -- straight).

Who it's best for: Long hair that will hold a curl, people who enjoy having hair covering one eye.

Look 3: The Bowl Cut

The bowl is back! This rounded haircut was all over the runways, it's a bit shocking, we know.

Who it's best for: Thick hair, anyone daring enough to cut her hair into a short, edgy style (and has the right-sized bowl on hand). Not brave enough? Cut a wig and wear it for a night!

Look 4: Hair Accessories

Everything from outrageous headbands to artfully placed bobby pins are hot this season, so get creative!

Who it's best for: Any hair type or length, people who live near a Claire's accessory store.

Look 5: Ballerina Buns

Prim and proper has never looked so sexy with these sleek and slightly off-center buns. Try a few twists in your hair for extra oomph.

Who it's best for: Medium to long hair of any texture (for a sleek look hair will need to be straightened though), ballerinas (of course).

yeah, the bowl cut brings back painful childhood memories...for some reason my parents were fans, which cannot be said for my elementary school peers...

now the ballerina buns and messy updos, that's great news!

I've been doing this for years (to get my hair out of my face, when say taking out the trash), so finally some validation...I'm a closeted trend-setter!

The first bowl cut looks more a variation of the bob to me.
