Be your own skin-perfecting mix master! Uncover a gorgeous complexion with these DIY recipes.

Redness-reducing mist: Brew a cup of organic chamomile tea; let it cool, then pour into a spray bottle and spritz all over face. Extracted from the daisy plant, chamomile acts as an anti-inflammatory to quickly calm irritation and reduce puffiness.

Behold! Natural, eco-conscious ways to get gorgeous and protect the earth.

Line lessener: Create a full-body exfoliant by pulverizing a handful of almonds, one orange peel and a cup of grapeseed oil in a blender. This antioxidant-rich cocktail blocks wrinkle-causing, collagen-degrading free radicals while fine granules slough flakes, leaving skin soft and supple.

Zit zapper Squeeze two lemons into a half cup of water, then splash over face and rinse. Lemon juice contains alpha hydroxy acid, which dissolves dead skin and fights bacteria, so the concoction helps banish blemishes. Clear skin ahead!

I have been a big fan of homemade skin care recipes. I have several posts here on Shine to make skin toners, boby scrubs, facial serums, etc. Sometimes I have sticker shock over the price of skin care products and then doubt if they are really worth the $$. A good skin care program gives your skin the vitimins/nutrients it needs to say healthy, same as the body. Homemade skin care products offer those nutrients/vitamins. Check out some recipes and how to make a facial mask at CompleteSkinCareTherapy.com

Better than spending your money on worthless cremes and anti-face biodics that never work and seem to do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do.

another good one I use: combine brown sugar with enogh honey to make it into a paste and use it to exfoliate damp skin before you shower. It rinses off easily and your skin will be so soft afterwards!

yes i use a homemake sugar scrub. i take plain white sugar and add my fav body oil (at the moment its vanilla cupcake from sephora) and scrub myself with it before i get into the shower. the only draw back is it is verrrry slipper in the shower and i almost killed my bf when i forgot to tell him about it. and i know its wrong to laugh at someone when they slip but to see a grown man (naked) clutching the shower curtain in a desperate attempt to regain balance....well hilarious

it's true that fresh fruit are the best ever treatments for the skin as they contain the best vitamins that skin trully needs to stay firm, elastic, fresh and clean but you really need to know what type of skin you have, because lemons might bring strong irritation to a sensitive skin; the face skin especially under the eyes is extremely soft so try not to apply anything there

it's important that you use moisturiser that contains plenty of water, water is the best for skin, some say it makes it dry but it's not true; don't use soap on face! that makes it dry. I use facial cleaner from johnsons it's really freshmatic!

I heard pure honey is good for dry lips from wind or flu ( also good treatment for elbow's dry skin or knees and sole), cold cucumber frees the circles under the eyes, and lightly boiled potatoes placed in a sock will decline fever.

    :)
