We haven't been Madonna's biggest fans lately, but we grew up on classics like "Material Girl," and "Papa Don't Preach," and miss the me-decade Madge. So although we think it's cheap for her to cash in on an album of probably mediocre-remixes, at least she's going back to the territory she knows best.
For those of you who haven't minded Madonna's latest work, there's something for you too: a new title track for the album has been recorded and co-produced by electro phenom Paul Oakenfold. The accompanying video, shot by the guy who made her "Ray of Light" video, has promise as well.
The album cover, pictured above, is a mashup of old and new elements. It was made by pop artist Mr. Brainwash, who is known for “throwing modern cultural icons into a blender and turning it up to eleven." It's like Andy Warhol's Marilyn meets "Desperately Seeking Susan" crossed with street art. We're into it... we just hope Madonna will invoke the artist we used to love and leave her yoga poses and faux accent at home. [Out]
