While the hippie movement had some guys interested in longer hair styles, they really gained popularity in the 1970s, '80s, and early '90s. For the most part, the dudes who once rocked shoulder grazing styles have since worn shorter styles. Well, except for Fabio. While men's hairstyles are more clean cut now, we can't help but notice many celebs in the last year or two putting their chin-length 'dos into ponytails. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Russell Crowe, have all been photographed with ponytails. Men of all ages from 22-year-old Zac Efron to 76-year-old Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld have worn them.
While long, slicked back ponytails may conjure up images of Steven Seagal, Gavin Rossdale kind of pulls it off. We don't even have the urge to reach for a pair of scissors! Is it possible that his (and Depp's and Farrell's) hotness transcends hairstyles and he can get away with a ponytail?
