I adore my mother (nit-picking and all!) but since we're in the midst of a recession, I had to do some creative thinking this year in order to find some inexpensive gift ideas that aren't cheesy or $1 store finds. First up was a stop to my local CVS where they have a ton of cute Mother's Day cards for 99 cents. Sure they don't have all of that sappy verbiage and illustrations you pay $4.99 for but they still get the Mother's Day message across quite nicely. Next, I strolled over to
Sleepyheads.com where I found these adorable
Gloveables Blue Gingham with Bow rubber gloves for a mere $16.95. They make household chores oh-so-fashionable! Here are some other under $25 finds I came across in my quest for the perfect (but affordable) Mother's Day gift:
The Happy Company Lavender Dream Pillow, calms and soothes for a good night's rest ($8.95 at Amazon.com).
DionisSoap.com offers scented hand creams for $9.99 each and pretty bath soaps in a variety of flavors for only $3.00 each (I snatched up 3 and plan to tie them together with ribbon). Check out the
Badger collection at
MundoProducts.com for great babycare gifts for new moms or soon-to-be moms. Prices range from $5-$15 depending upon the item. Lastly,
Bonjour Fleurette's Butterfly Luggage Tag is simple stunning and perfect for moms who love to travel. It's only $12 at
FlowerSlippers.com and other styles are available. If you buy three or more, they become $10 each!
