Pitbull Mom Lipstick Launches... Really

Some ideas should just stay ideas.

It was only a matter of time before someone took the "lipstick on a pitbull" literally. Pitbullmom.com launched this week, featuring 2 shades of lipstick -  "Pale'n Pink" and "Republican Red." The shades are indeed as bad as the names.

"American women across the country have been holding their lipstick in the air as a sign of support for Sarah Palin," claims partner Fess Crockett, "And we felt that the time was right for women everywhere to more boldly display their allegiance through Pit Bull Mom." Pitbullmom is targeting "today's conservative women" and features not only the worst shades of lipstick out there, but t-shirts, tumblers, water bottles and a 5-pack of lipbalm as well. One of the other founders says, "Our feeling is that PBM's (Pit Bull Mom's) everywhere will want to join this movement. We are all inspired by the same beliefs and ideals as the candidate."

We don't know which is worse - bad makeup or another annoying acronym. But, they are donating 10% of the proceeds to the Special Olympics, which is the only good thing we can say.

It's all about the marketing, from politics to cosmetics. Shame on us.

SO STUPID. Does that imply that women who are mother are female dogs??

The whole thing disgusts me. Talk about "dumbing down" America. What happened to bright, socially aware women who wanted to climb out of the stereotypes that had been forced upon them (us)??

I'm glad that the National Organization of Women, despite having a woman running for VP, is smart enough to support Obama. Let's get REAL already. Holding up lipsticks to unite??? I have to go puke.

    I'm insulted by this garbage.

"American women across the country have been holding their lipstick in the air as a sign of support for Sarah Palin," claims partner Fess Crockett, "And we felt that the time was right for women everywhere to more boldly display their allegiance through Pit Bull Mom."

Really? OMG, barf....This obviously shows how little Conservatives know about feminism or what truly intelligent women are concerned about. This, as usual, appeals to the lowest common denominator. I suppose whatever you can market to make a buck.....

You have got to be kidding me!!! Of course the proceeds will be going to the republican party. They will try to milk this Palin thing to make as much money as they can won't they?

WOW JUST WOW!!! I find it sickening that women can unite and support a VP candidate based solely on gender. This woman plans to do nothing for women but send us back to the caveman days when women had no choice but to be barefoot and pregnant all her life, and there are women holding up their lipstick in support, lipstick??? Can anyone supporting McCain say something intelligent?!?!

Who wants to be called a "pit bull?" What does that even mean, anyway? I assume we're talking about the negative pit bull stereotype: vicious, territorial, and aggressive. Exactly how a mother should be, right? Um.... am I missing something here?!?!!

OK, if wearing lipstick shows support for Sarah Palin, then I'm going back to Chapstick.

I also think that women who call themselves "pitbulls" or "barracudas" aren't doing the rest of us any favors. I'd rather be seen as a strong independent woman, not a "pitbull." Why would any woman want to reinforce the sexist notion that men are ambitious but women who act the same way are aggressive? Let's keep lowering that glass ceiling ladies. Puh-lease.

"American women across the country have been holding their lipstick in the air as a sign of support for Sarah Palin," Who in there right mind would support her? She is BUSH in a skirt suit. She doesn't know enough about reality to assist the blind man trying to run this country!!! Her daughter getting pregnant was probably the best thing that ever happened to her.

Aren't Pitbulls also known to turn on people? Just a thought........
