Poor J.Lo! Sings about high-heeled “Louboutins,” then loses her footing during AMA performance

On Friday afternoon we heard Jennifer Lopez was poised for yet another musical comeback with a hot new single called "Louboutins" off her upcoming sixth studio album entitled "Love?". Talk about brand recognition! The whole chorus pays tribute to the pricey red-soled heels. Fashion Week Daily reported that shoe designer Christian Louboutin dined with J.Lo earlier in the week to discuss the footwear he was designing for her Sunday night performance at the American Music Awards.

When J.Lo took the stage last night she wasn't wearing heels at all, but rather some black wrestling-style sneakers with gold rhinestone toes. So far there's no word on if the sneakers were actually made by Louboutin, but she also wore a silk boxing robe and the stage was set to look like a boxing ring. Unfortunately, rather than kicking ass, Lopez got her own butt whooped! Midway through her performance, Lopez jumped off the back of one of her dancers, landing flat on her butt instead of her feet. J.Lo made a quick recovery, and her fall was completely edited out of the west coast airing of the award show—her tumble was replaced by a slo-mo jump, which made it look as though Lopez landed perfectly. Supposedly the performer was furious backstage. "She walked off the stage absolutely fuming," says an insider. "She was so upset, and ready to kill. Jennifer was a perfectionist about that performance and practiced hard." Perhaps even worse is the rumor that J.Lo wasn't even singing, but lip-synching for the entire performance.

Sure accidents happen, but Lopez wasn't even wearing heels! We've seen Beyonce do intricate choreography and even stage dive in high heels. Hopefully J.Lo can live up to a song about "Louboutins" by walking—and jumping—in them without any more mishaps.

For those of you who know the name Christian Louboutin sounds familiar, his high-end heels and boots are often worn by celebrities and fashion elite. When recently asked about his aesthetic, the footwear designer said, "I would hate for someone to look at my shoe and say, 'Oh my God! That looks so comfortable!' That's not what I want to project. But I'm not a sadist. I don't believe suffering makes you beautiful. But comfort is not part of my creative process." While we'll admit his shoes are stunning, their hefty price tag and the pain they inflict might not be worth it. Louboutin also recently slimmed down Barbie's ankles when asked to design some heels for the doll.
