alert! You'd think Brazilian fashion journalists would have learned
their lesson after a 21-year-old native model Ana Carolina Reston made
headlines when she died of anorexia, forcing the entire industry to a
call to arms regarding promoting new standards when it comes to
projecting healthier body images.
So what the heck were reporters thinking when according to
Catwalkqueen,
critics called out 24-year-old supermodel Karolina Kurkova for having
"back fat, love handles and cellulite" and looking
"uncharacteristically chubby" when she appeared in a Cia Maritima show
during Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
See, this is why models starve themselves and women (and now
men, too) follow suit! For the record, I've been to several of the
Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows (of which Karolina is a star), and ya
know what?
Almost every girl has a bit of cellulite--some more than
others. Why? Because most women, even (
gasp!) models, have
cellulite,
that's why. Argh this pisses me off so much. In fact, I'm surprised no
one commented on the fact that at the ripe old age of 24, she's a
runway "hag" too. I hope Karolina is all like, "Whatev's losers!"
But somehow, I doubt that.

i would kill to have her body! it's amazing! i think she's perfect the way she is. she doesnt need to lose weight. maybe tone a bit here and there, but she really doesnt even need to do that!

Well first off the word FAT is over used in America . . . period. We don't know how to decipher between fat, out of shape, shapely or whatever. She is not fat. However, she is definantly out of shape. And you don't have to be a size zero to be beautiful but when it is your job to look a certain way . . . that's what you have to do. When you get paid for people to stair at you while you are walking down a runway, I feel that it is your duty to look a certain way. And that's what SHOULD have been said about her body. Not that she is fat.

I'm sorry but she is a MODEL, she is not fat but it is her job to be toned. She gets paid plenty of money to look good in a bikini. Yes for someone at the beach she is HOT but shes not going to be on the runway much longer if she does not tone up.

She has more dimples on her right thigh than a tater tot!!!! GROSS!!!! She gets paid to be in shape and to be thin and toned....and it is obvious that she is not. She has definetly plumped up. She also has back fat! DISGUSTING!

I would HATE to see what some of you women look like if you think THAT is the perfect, desirable body!!!!! Her ass hangs out of her bikini bottoms, she has back fat rolls, she is untoned, and she has dimples all over her thighs.
I don't blame men for cheating on women who let them selves go, geesh!

I wonder how much of this attack was based in "fatness" and how much was based in the fact that the model is 24 years old. Modeling picks very young girls, frequently still in their mid-teens, and dresses them and makes them up to look older, presenting an impossible ideal. No one continues to look like they did when they were 16. But signs of maturity are frowned upon. Is this based in a subliminal sence of pedophilia?

I am 44 years old and I have had 3 kids and I have NO cellulite and wear a size 00, and 100 pounds and 5'5.
For her to be 24 and have a flabby body like that it is just disgusting! I would love to see what some of you people look like that think she has a good body. It is utterly outrageous to see so many young people out of shape.
Get off your ass people, it takes work to be thin!

Hate myself? Who hates themselves? I would hate myself and want to die if I was flabby with back fat, untoned! That my friend is pure laziness. For all of you who sit and home and wish for bodies like that, get off your ass and do something about it! If you think your hubbies are loving you living large you are wrong!!!! I agree, that is why men cheat!
