For the brave, or just plain ridiculous?
So, with a recent beauty adventure I decided to jump on the red lipstick bandwagon. This is totally easier said than done. I know it sounds pansy of me, but it took at LEAST five attempts of putting it on before a night out...then insecurely wiping it away before I leave, opting for a safe petal pink.
Finally, one night I resist the urge to swipe it away. I play it down with a clean face: lush lashes, and the ever-so-slight touch of Bobbi Brown blush in "Brown Berry". YSL highlighter on cheekbones bring out the final glowy touches, and voila! I actually walk out of the house!
Instantly friends are beaming how much they love it, and start the "I wish I could wear red lipstick....". Heads turn in the restaurant, double glances, triple glances are even taken. It's such a fun feeling to be so unique! I feel like I'm channeling the retro Marilyn feel. Ok, so I'm really Asian but hey a girl can pretend!
Finally I do the unthinkably brave: I debut my new red lipstick look as my Facebook profile page. Once again, astounding reviews! People I haven't talked to in ages are commenting "Smoking!", "Hot picture", "Keep up the red!".
Ultimately I have decided, just do it ladies! There was one person who insisted the "natural" look was better, but hey one night of glamour is what every gal needs. So what if you're not a Megan Fox meets Gisele Bundchen-bodied glamazon model. Get over that self-conscious hump, and carpe diem with a bold face.

LOL! That's so funny bc I had a gf that said the EXACT same thing "I have medium olive skin". Good luck on your mission, though I'm sure you'll look fabulous :D!
