See-thru jeans? Say it isn’t so!

Siwy, Rag & Bone, David Lerner and ShopBop jeans all on Shopbop

Siwy, Rag & Bone, David Lerner and ShopBop jeans all on Shopbop

If you're up on your celebrity fashion trends, you're fully aware of the no-pants movement, as made popular by Lady Gaga and Victoria Beckham. This summer so many stars walked the red carpet and attended events pantless that we almost started to think it was normal.

Well, autumn is upon us, and here in New York temperatures have dropped to the high 60s. It's that heartbreaking time of year when our bare legs are forced to hide behind pants. Or is it? An even scarier trend is emerging than no-pants: see-thru pants! Yes, you read that right. Many brands have sliced, diced, and inserted lace and mesh panels to allow your skin to show though.
American Apparel

American Apparel

The styles above were all found while browsing Shopbop.com: Siwy denim with leg cut outs lead the pacj at $242, Rag & Bone pants with mesh side panels are $275, David Lerner lace frontal leggings cost $110, and the ShopBop super shred jeans will set you back $225. Why pay so much for pants that don't even do their job as pants?! Fear not: American Apparel is serving up a more affordable sheer version for $40. Ugh. Not only are all these pants totally hideous and tacky, they're impractical. Most of the new styles would put your legs--not to mention undies--on full display!

Here's the part where we at Shine beg you: Please do not let the see-thru pants trend happen. Let's nip it in the bud right now. Jeggings are bad enough.

They might as well just be considered pantyhose.

For a clubbing, okay. But unfortunately, I already know that they would never just stay in the club, so I have to say NO. Plz just no.

And what happens when they "run" like pantyhose? Even more skin will be revealed.

Erg, although I kinda like the thought of lace, it does not look good! I'd rather have something like this: http://www.travelncs.com/rd_p?skipRedirect=1&p=191614&t=9538&a=2380-jeans&c=&gift=6415

The problem is , most girls/women do not have tight bodies like the models shown. Yet, they will buy them. Won't that be a lovely sight?
