Should Miss California lose her crown over topless photos?

Just days after the whole world found out that her boobs were paid for by pageant officials, now topless photos of Miss California Carrie Prejean have surfaced. And, this morning, the 21-year-old beauty queen responded to the new scandal: Prejean believes the naked pictures were released as an attempt to belittle her Christianity.

I mean, really? Seems to me that Prejean and her Christianity posed for the pics, she says when she was 17. And, while the images circulating right now (reportedly, more revealing shots have yet to be released) are not of the naughty Vanessa-Williams-in-Playboy variety, they're not Sunday-school appropriate either.

But are they inappropriate enough that Prejean should lose her crown? According to pageant officials,
Young Miss California, baring it all, almost

Young Miss California, baring it all, almost

yes, possibly. In a statement given to the Associated Press, pageant spokesman Roger Neal explained that, "Prejean has run afoul of several sections of the 12-page contract that prospective contestants were required to sign before competing...The contract contains a clause asking participants whether they have conducted themselves 'in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards' and if they've ever been photographed nude or partially nude."

As for Miss California, she released the Christianity statement today, explaining:
"My comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street.

"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid website that openly mocks me for my Christian faith.

"I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks."

Yikes.

No. Nudity is art...at least it is to me. But she needs to stop talking now. She is being a publicity w----.

Personally, I am tired of her attitude of "I will be what God wants me to be as it suits me." I am okay with her not supporting homosexuality as that is her belief, but she said she doesn't support it because it isn't God's way. Was it God's way for her to have the Miss California people pay for her to have fake breasts that God himself didn't give her? I am okay with her photo that was released. It isn't any worse than a Victoria's Secret Model. The fact that people are saying it is to belittle her Christianity is ridiculous. But, she did lie on the application. The application asks if they have done anything risque, such as nude or partially nude photos. The new picture is a partially nude photo. Doesn't God want us to tell the truth always? She angered a bunch of people with her anti-homosexuality comments which were then fueled by Perez Hilton so people are taking shots at her. If she would quit fueling the fire by responding, these things would be laid to rest. I am just insanely tired of the whole Miss California debacle.

Here's the thing. Anything a Christian does that is a mistake is going to be harshly judged because Christians believe what Jesus taught. And Christians are supposed to live like Jesus did and live according to what He taught. He did not promote homosexuality, he did not promote promiscuity -- but He loved those who did those things. As should Christians.

Unfortunately, Christians aren't perfect like Christ was, and shouldn't claim to be. If Christians believe what Jesus taught, then their opinions will be based on what Jesus taught. Christians opinion of gay marriage will be that it's wrong, just as the Bible says.

Carrie Prejean will be judged on this in the light that she's a Christian, and she will be called a hypocrite. But she was 17, and maybe at a different point in her life then. There are Christians who don't walk what they talk, and they should be called out, at the time. Thankfully, God forgives us for our past, and if she is the Christian she says she is, she has asked for forgiveness.

No, they should keep her, her hyprocrisy, and her silicon.

And the anti-gay group which made her their spokesperson should not be allowed to get rid of her, her hypocrisy, and her silicon, that easy.

This is your 'face' - deal with it.

No. But someone needs to put a muzzle on her... and David K. She clearly is not the swiftest bird in flight. This is not about jealously. Far from it.

This isn't about her freedom of speech, her beliefs, or being perfect.

This is about her attitude and behavior.

For those who can't tell the difference, no amount of explaining it will matter. People are going to believe what they want to believe. People *want* to believe that she is being persecuted. People *want* to believe that Christianity is under fire. People *want* to believe she is a great person, even though her behavior has been whiny, ungrateful, deceptive, entitled, and manipulative.

She signed a contract stating that nude or partially nude photos of herself would be grounds for disqualification. She admitted to taking the photos. So for once, she may have to take some responsibility for her behavior. Good, it's about time.

I second the motion for David K's muzzle...lol

I agree with Thera, springtime, and Doktor Eevol. Great answers all of you especially Doktor, she signed the contract, violated its terms and conditions and should be disqualified.

I don't give a d@mn whether she's Christian, "hot" or any of that crap.

I'm with the majority so far... She needs to shut her mouth-- so does Dave K. Her "holier than thou" attitude is a little too much for such a HUGE hypocrite. She lied when signing her contract-- that's against "God's word", isn't it?

It all doesn't surprise me in the least. She'll go to church on Sunday, ask for forgiveness and feel better about herself. Then the following week, she'll choose which of God's rules she'll want to live by again, then ask for forgiveness again. A cycle which will never end. BUT, oh my goodness, let's condemn all the gays please....

oh, and please enlighten yourselves with her pics... http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/gallery/carrie-prejean-nude/

By the way, if she was 17 at the time the pics were taken, isn't that illegal?
