The Brangelina jewelry collection, complete with serpent baby spoons
editor
With six kids (perhaps a
seventh on the way), sprawling properties, mega successful careers,
multi-million dollar salaries, and, well, each other, you might
think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had everything. Now they can add
their own jewelry collection to the list, as the couple have
conceived and designed a high-end line for Asprey. The limited
collection called Protector will be available this week and all
items feature snakes. Why snakes? Apparently when Angie was
pregnant with their daughter, Shiloh, someone gave her a serpent
ring, and ever since she has viewed it a symbol that protects her
family. The Protector collection features gold, silver and pave
diamond encrusted snakes in the form of rings, bracelets,
necklaces, cuff links, and baby gifts. Prices start at $525 for a
silver baby spoon with a serpent handle. How very Angelina.
Jolie has worn Asprey many
times on the red carpet, so a collaboration with the UK retailer
seems somewhat logical. And Brad Pitt is no newcomer to the jewelry
world--he famously teamed up with Damiani to design an engagement
ring for ex-wife Jennifer Aniston and both of their wedding bands.
Pitt also has a strong interest in architecture, furniture,
and art, having designed and decorated several homes. Up till now
we thought he had pretty good taste, but these expensive snake
pieces seem a little tacky.
One reason to love Brangelina's jewelry line: all net proceeds
are going charity, specifically Education Partnership for Children
of Conflict, which Jolie co-founded. It's hard to hate on these
two when they're always so generous. What do you think of the
Protector collection? [
