Travel-Size Beauty Products Have Gotten So Freakin' Chic

Remember the old days when, before going on a trip, you'd either A) buy ugly reusable plastic travel bottles to transport your shampoo, body lotion, etc, or B) scour the trial-size aisle of CVS for travel minis, resorting to mini men's Degree deodorant or mini Prell shampoo if that was the best available option? If they happened to have a mini of your Pantene, it was like, score! You still gotta love the trial-size aisle; minis in general are just so damn cute. Which is why I get all giddy every time I see a scaled-down travel version of a beauty product I love--thanks the the FAA's no-liquids rules, they're everywhere! (How much is too much when it comes to packing beauty products for a trip?)

And forget about the fact that you can find a less-than-three-ouncer of basically any skincare or haircare item you're addicted to--have you guys seen the itty-bitty flat irons and little baby blowdryers (including fancy ones from Chi and T3)? No longer must we choose between lugging our full-size appliances (and cursing out our overnight bag every step of the way) or risking the hotel having one of those sub-par lukewarm wall-mounted dryers!

Below are some of the most tempting travel items I've come across lately; some are pricey, but I think they'd make excellent holiday gifts for anyone you know who's always on the go. Or for yourself, perhaps?

What's your routine when you travel--do you pack full-size items or take the time to track down minis in advance? Do you mind using the hotel shampoo and conditioner, or do you have to have your usuals? What about using the hotel blow dryer?

Weekend getaway? Your good to go with these time-saving travel essentials.

I travel back and forth from the south the midwest between 2-3 times a year and I hate having to check my bags, so I try to always plan on getting travel size items before my trip. Yes, I agree, sometimes I have to stop myself from purchasing the cute little travel size products when I'm going anywhere, but they are cute. I even have the travel size of charmin toilet paper, its just enough for one person too.

Oh and as a side note, most if not all of those items are rather pricey, and I would probably only get the clinique products, since I've used those before.

Years ago I used to feel guilty taking the little shampoo/conditioner bottles the hotel gives you but now since TSA only gives you only a tiny little "baggie" to put your liquids in I do not feel bad taking the hotel bottles anymore. They are the perfect size anyways!!!!

It is no big deal to put your own product into the small travel-size plastic bottles.

This saves a lot of money and allows you the comfort of using products that

    you are used to.
