Report AbuseThey do not get a tip out of the gift certificate amount, I believe it just pays for the services. It is customary to tip for manicures and massages. It would be up to you to take care of the tip.

Report AbuseI've always tipped, at least a little bit. Although your standard spa massage runs in the 70-80 dollar range, the masseuse/therapist usually gets much less than that.
Really, no matter where you are, what you are getting or buying, if someone treats you well, and goes above and beyond, leave a tip if possible. Not a whole lot of us in the working world make a lot of money....

Report AbuseAs a massage therapist myself! I have to say yes! Tip if you think it was a wonderful massage. If it is the most wonderful massage of your life give at least 20%. For example: Most all of my clients leave $20 or more. Our one hour massage costs $80... Hope this helps!

Report AbuseIt depends on where you're getting this done. The last time I got a gift card for someone to a spa, they included the price of the tip in the gift card. It might be worth it to call and ask if the tip in included or if you should make sure to have cash on hand. I would have the cash anyway just in case. When in doubt, tip well.

Report AbuseIf you had a good experience, yes and it shouldn't matter if a tip was included in the certificate total.

Report AbuseThanks for all the feedback - I figured it would be appropriate, being part of the "service" industry. And yes, Lynn, I tip my hairstylist.

Report AbuseUnless the spa says tips are included in the price you most certainly should tip! Especially if you ever consider going back to the same spa, and would like the same caliper of services!

Report AbuseYES! you should tip, the price of the service the stylist may get only half! It is one way to show you feel the stylist has done a good job.
