Last week, right before I was leaving for the beach for July 4th, a reader named Girl Rider posted a simple blog post with a simple question: What are you wearing today? I thought, "Now that's kind of fun," and I featured it in the editor's picks. Then, over the weekend, you guys went a little crazy.  Well, maybe not crazy...but 83 of you wanted to tell the rest of you what was being worn that day and other people got excited about people's outfits and there was conversation and  joviality and it felt like what this fashion and beauty blog should be. So, I am going to continue this tradition, on Fridays, from now on, forever.
What are you wearing today?
(Incidentally, this question sounds faintly dirty to me like when you'd watch, I don't know, the Love Boat and Doc would call a woman and ask her that very question except without the "today". Or maybe somewhere in my twisted mind I've mixed up Doc from Love Boat—the man who always gave the ladies his pajama tops while he donned the bottoms—with Howard Stern, who definitely definitely asked many a lady caller what they were wearing and I know this because I secretly listened to him on my way to school when I was 14. Oh. Digressions).
In any case, on this hot July day, I am wearing:
The red and black plaid dress pictured (which I got on eBay)
Black peep-toe flats
A low side ponytail
My Paul Frank glasses
Today my role in the play would be "Summer Librarian."

    Let's see...from the toes up...

    Silver-blue Bitten open-toed sandals

    My Guess by Marciano glasses (the contacts hurt this morning)

    Two layered Mossimo Black tissue-weight tees (thank you, Target!) in blue and black

    Low-waist, trouser dark-wash jeans - have had them forever - were a vintage find.

    Accessories - a silver Skagen watch and my white D&B Marchesa slouch bag. Hello Friday!

    I'm keeping it casual today while I work my 3 and 1/2 hour shift at my school's library.

    Brown Chuck Taylor's

    Dark denim shorts from Old Navy

    Purple sleeveless shirt from Old Navy

    and (because it's freezing in here) a green Baylor University hoodie

    Let's see . . . this is fun! LOL I'm wearing Black wide legged low waist black pants and a 1950's cut halter with a black cardigan. On the feet: 3 1/2 inch stilleto heels (Black with a gold buckle)closed pointed toe. O and studded earings from ALDO Acessories!

    From the bottom for me: Tan microfiber Keds, beige low waisted shorts (not too low) and a sleeveless Kate Hill v-neck top in -- you guessed it --- beige. Gold chain and gold and jade star shaped earrings are my accessories. This is vacation mode for me--in real life, I am a librarian.

    Nothing as cute has half as you! I didn't care this morning and am on the dangerous side of casual for an executive office:

    A blue Beatles tee ($5 at Target 2 yrs ago), dark wash jeans and tennis shoes.

    This was fun. Next friday I'll have to dress cuter ;)

    Brown flip flops, knit dress with orange and aqua flowers brown back ground(target). Brown glasses. Very casual summer cute.

    This is fun, OK I'm wearing (from the toes up), white Steve Madden flip flops (purchased two summers ago), my favorite Levis, a flowy, white Express cotton top, D&G glasses (the computer glare is killing my eye sight). My hair is in a simple braid; I'm wearing my favorite oversized silver Fossil watch, and a silver necklace. It all comes together my my new favorite H&M beige handbag purhcased last week while on vacation.

    I love this idea!
