What Is Your Mom's Best Piece Of Beauty Advice?

My mother—along with your mom and generations of moms behind us—is crazy. Most of our talks aren’t so much conversations as they are her instructing me to do insane things. “Start a low-carb gift basket company!” “Learn masonry!” “Do a flamenco dance in the face of men!” Last night it was, “You look tired, you should put cold spoons under your eyes.” Huh? Stick two in the freezer, and each morning hold the backs of the spoons beneath your eyes. It will relieve puffiness and make you look refreshed. Apparently, this is a pretty old beauty trick in the book. But, I tried it, and, I must say…sheer genius. What are some other weird (but helpful) beauty tips your mother has given you?--Leonora Epstein for The Frisky

Not really weird, but my mom swore by Oil of Olay beauty Fluid and Queen Ann Mint Julep face masks. Even though she is gone now, I still use both faithfully.

Whenever I get a random pimple, I dab a little "bikini soothing shave gel" on it after I've washed my face. It's supposed to be used to prevent razor bumps and to sooth skin irritation after shaving down there, but it somehow helps reduce the size of my zit. I swear by it!

To wear lots of sunscreen, even before all the beauty consultants knew wrinkles came from sun exposure. My Mom is one smart Lady. Thanks Mom.:)

To help dry out a pimple, put a dab of toothpaste on it before bed. It reduces the swelling and dries it out.
