When celeb designers flub: Ungaro calls Lohan’s collab “a disaster”

Lindsay Lohan's first collection as artistic advisor for Emanuel Ungaro received scathing reviews from many fashion critics, but we had yet to hear from Ungaro himself. Perhaps it would have been better for Lohan if he had kept his mouth shut, but instead he told all to an audience at the Estoril film festival in Lisbon, Portugal.

"Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster," said 76-year-old Ungaro. "I am furious but I can't do anything about it." The designer said that the label he built "is in the process of losing its soul." Many fashion houses have had other designers take over, but the appointment of Lindsay Lohan, a failing actress and creator of a leggings line, as advisor seemed rather hasty and unusual. "That happens to a lot of designers," continued Ungaro. "We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."

There have been rumors that Lohan is not getting paid for her work as artistic advisor and may be ditched after this one season. Man, Lindsay just can't catch a break. Do you think some celebrities need to stay out of the fashion industry? [Independent]

yes, they need to stay out, just because you can endorse a certain brand does not make you

capable to be callled an artistic advisor , designer whatever name is invented today. On my

mother side they were all in the industry of fashion these were the ladies who created fashion.

Today's young designer struggle a lot to be recognized for their talent in the fashion world and

you must prove yourself and to the world that you are really good not a fashion flop. You have

to be creative, stylish and fashion forward. And this girl does not have any style. Yvonne

Why is he bitchin'? Doesn't he control his own empire? Who appointed her? I can't stand all these male designer's. They are mostly gay and do not care how comfortable their clothing is just how THEY might look in them. Why do you think they design all those silly shoes? They are into S&M and just want to torture women because they have momma issues and really hate women.

LL needs to go away for about 10 years, get an education, settle down, and figure out who she really is. she'll still be hot at that time and can play some meaningful roles or find success behind the scenes somewhere. take some time for yourself and get it together lilo.

and what qualifed LL as an artistic advisor in the first place?

Ungaro: If you "gave up your house and gave up your soul", then you abdicated responsibility to both your business and your passion and have no one to blame but yourself.

Yeah, for Ungaro to say now that it was a disaster is ridiculous. Anyone could have told him that would be the result -- ANYONE! Me, my dad, my plumber, seriously anyone could have told him! I have an idea, maybe he could hook up with Jon Gosselin and design some . . . no, wait, on second thought, also NOT a good idea, eh?

Maybe all celebrities don't need to stay out of fashion, but those who clearly have bad fashion tastes should. Why is anyone surprised that Lilo's line flubbed?
