Fri Oct 16, 2009 11:38pmOk people. We know we have issues with race that most likely will never go away. Why in the hell does anyone care about what is going on in a magazine in France anyway? Get over it. People have created these issues without much thought...ignorance runs this country if you haven't noticed. People in France, and even in all of Europe obviously do not have the same stupidity levels and racial BS running through their veins like the Americans public does. People are way too sensitive to everything in this world and need to grow a pair and quit being cry-babies. People are people and we all have a right to free speech and can do and say and act however we choose. This is not a personal attach against black people at all. This is someone's attempt at their own version of art. Let them express it the way they want. Quit taking it to heart.
Oh and the racism thing is a joke. Seriously. The people who are complaining about the racism in this country were not even around during the time that they feel the degradation and humiliation was taking place. And to be quite honest with you, from my neighborhood and where I am from, that particular race has been the racists my whole life. When does the caucasian race get a white history month?? What about a Caucasian College Fund?? Get over yourselves and find something else to complain about. I have never been racist, but I, for some reason, along with all the current "white" population gets blamed for all the "humiliation" that didn't even exist in our time. White isn't the standard of beauty anymore. Just be happy that Vogue even wanted a white model to be "black-faced." This man obviously thinks that black skin is so beautiful that he wanted to have a white woman be black-faced to create his interpretation of what he thinks is art. You should feel proud. Get off your high horses people and dry up your tears. This generation had nothing to do with the things that took place 45 years ago. Noone is going to feel sorry for this anymore. Racism is a joke that is only kept alive by people who keep complaining about it. Nooone owes anyone anything. People should work together to accept one another and not point fingers and criticize.
History lesson #1. You're welcome.
You know, come to think about it....I was picked on my whole life throughout school just because I had red hair...a beautiful creation of rarity that people have grown to appreciate now in this new time. Do I get any special treatment because of it? Do I get any special grants or welfare, housing, or priviledges because of it? No. My race, skin tone, hair color, eye color is rarer than anyone in this world. But who am I to judge? I think that what I received was a form of racism...but I am not black. Does anyone have any sympathy for me? Of course not! I got over it and knew that I was unique and special, regardless of what hurtful people had to say, and that is what is wrong with the black people of this country. They need to stop being racists themselves, thinking the white people of this country owe them and should treat them as a higher race, and realize how special and unique they are, regardless of anyone else's opinion, as well as everyone else in this world is. Get over yourselves. I have no sympathy and think it is a joke to think this is racism. Black people have more race issues ingrained into them from such a young age that they will never be able to actually breathe the same air as white people and think they are equal.
