Would you wear something you wore 20 years ago?

Though I never really thought about it, after looking through childhood photo albums on a recent visit home, I've realized my style has been the same throughout my entire life. And to prove it: not once, not twice, but probably about six times I audibly said, "I wish that dress/skirt/top still fit me" when taking note of the '80s-inspired outfits of my youth.

Yes, I realize I'm no longer six, but a should-be-dressing-like-a-grown-woman 28 years old. But I've had a lifelong addiction to bright colors, leggings, wild prints and even pumps before I was old enough to wear them. I swear, if there was some way I could enlarge my favorite two-toned turquoise and pink minidress or the denim and lace inspired Madonna outfits of my childhood, I would be rocking them to this day. (I have no shame when it comes to trendy fashion.)

Obviously, Cher's getup as seen here on the left is a different story. I'd never wear a cut out leotard and thigh-high chap-style tights in public, but Cher did 20 years ago in her 'Turn Back Time" video, and she did precisely that this past weekend when wearing a strikingly similar ensemble on stage in Las Vegas. Cher has always had outrageous, over-the-top style, and you know what, at 62 years old her body still looks pretty darn good! So Cher, if you want to work that leotard, we say go for it. You look as ridiculous and happy as you did back then. We can't hate.

Leotards aside, would you wear any of the clothing you wore 20 years ago? [US Weekly]

Sure, all the styles that were out 20 years ago, they have brought back and call them "trendy".

I am so disappointed that I got rid of all my awesome formal dresses from the early 90s. I actually saw a dress in a recent Vogue that was really similar to one I had back then. Like someone else said, these styles always come back.

From twenty years ago, well i only wore diapers then, but sure I love to wear clothes that were in fashion in the late 80's n 90's. They make people take notice and you never know, you maybe the first to wear something that's coming back to fashion.

look the reason they make such a deal about cher is that she's way over forty and looks asskicking good. Honey, when we all get over thirty and our bodies slow down everything goes down. Down on your hips and your assets. Then you hit forty and lordy it just get more exciting when the hormones give up. No more let's eat this and let's do that. Your body just changes you in ways you never thought. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Be happy with what you got!Work with it like Cher did...Or fix it with a little nip and tuck here and there. Maybe someone would give up props on how good you look too. Wait till you get there. They never told us this before. We all will get there sooner or later. Good luck.

What the hail? Cher, hunny, NO. I give her credit for having the balls to even wear it, but some things need to stay in your closet of memories.

cher is nasty. she needs to start dressing more maturely. she looked skanky then and now she looks like an old fat skank. and a pale one with really bad hair at that. whoever let her go out in public like that should be whipped!

No probably not... but then when I was seven I had a shirt with a giant ice cream cone on the front and denim pants held up by elastic... not exactly trendy retro... Definitely not something from the 80's tv show "rags to riches" or a Cyndi Lauper video..
