The former child star is showing that she's all grown
up and is a force to be reckoned with — on screen and on the red
carpet.
Wow! Somebody has obviously taught
Dakota Fanning how to make an impact on the red
carpet. But not long ago, the 15-year-old was still dressing like a
kid and looked awkward as she posed for photos, standing
inelegantly while her arms hung by her sides.
But now, with her role as a
mind-controlling evil vampire in
New Moon, she is all
grown up — and striking a pose! Dakota has learned the finer points
of posing for photographers. Sexy minidress? Check! One leg crossed
in front of the other to make an already slim silhouette look even
slimmer? Check! Hand on hip and and a provocative look over her
shoulder? Check!
Let's hope that the person who has
been teaching her these red carpet tricks is her

not one of those starlets — yes,
Paris Hilton,
we're talking to you — who makes a career of going to the
opening of an envelope.
Here's a look back at Dakota's red-carpet evolution:
Seven-year-old Dakota walked down her
first red carpet at the premiere of
I Am Sam in 2001.
The following year, she looked like Alice
in Wonderland at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
What little girl wouldn’t want to play
with Muppets? A relaxed moppet frolicked with the crew in 2004.
Did someone escape from
The
Nutcracker? The 11-year-old looked like she’s more ready for
the ballet — look at the position of her feet — than the 2005
premiere of
War of The Worlds in New York.
Dakota wore a fashionable outfit at the
premiere of
Charlotte’s Web in 2006. She was beginning to
figure out how to pose for the cameras, but she still had soldier
arms.
Look at her feet and her pose at the 2007
Hollywood Life Magazine's Young Hollywood Awards.
Dakota really started to work the cameras.
Now she’s got it! Hand on hips, feet
placed just so, in January Dakota was certainly looking red-carpet
ready at the Critics Choice Awards, and less like than an awkward
teen caught by Dad’s camera at a family party.
A fashionista in the making? Look at her
work that BCBG Max Azria navy silk romper leaving
The Late Show
With David Letterman in February this year, not only is Dakota
posing, she’s accessorized and her arms aren’t stuck to her sides.
You go, girl!
