Yet another reason to adore Cate Blanchett

Lots of stars insist that they don't engage in recreational surgery, despite immobile foreheads and a total absence of naso-labial folds (the lines connecting the edge of your nose to the sides of your mouth, caused by the inevitable gravitational pull on the fat pads inside your cheeks...er, TMI?). Naturally, it's easy to make the "No Plastic Surgery" stance when you're naturally breathtaking, but that never stopped Janice Dickenson, Meg Ryan or Victoria Principal.

However, when my girl Cate says that she's not partaking, I tend to believe her. She recently told the British Glamour, "I see someone's face, someone's body who has had children, and I think they're the song lines of your experience, and why would you want to eradicate that? Death is not going to be any easier just because your face can't move." Hallelujah.

Except...well, there's a delicate balance of character lines, aren't there. Clearly, Cate's unbelievably gorgeous and glowy and her beautiful strong features combine with the little line action around her eyes, mouth and forehead in a nice, soft focus, but I suspect that our pale English flower was a bit of a sun worshipper back in the day and probably spends about 300 hours a year at 36,000 feet.

"Song lines" are beautiful, but even Cate would agree that taking care of your skin--via sunscreen, moisturizers and topical vitamins and supplements--is the best and downright virtuous. We know that she's supposedly using P&G's high end SK-II line and Dr. Hauschka (whatevs, we all know the deal with celeb endorsements). I love the idea of two-timing my moisturizing/sunscreen routine, like with Perricone's amazingly lightweight Age Prevent Protective Hydrator with SPF 15. Cate should also consider amping up the lip protection with a double-timer, like this brand spanking new one from one of my favorite new brands, Lavanila. And certainly there's nothing immoral in dabbing a little bit around the sensitive facial tissues, like Caudalie's Contour Cream Eye and Lips or the Philosophy version, which is just a wee bit nicer to the budget (of course, if she wanted to go strictly drugstore cowgirl and save half the cash but have to lug around two products, then she could go with Olay's Revitalizing Eye Gel paired with some cheap lip moisturizer that has sun protection, like the good ol' reliable ChapStick) is just the thing to pack away.

I kind of crushed on Cate Blanchett even before I knew about the whole No Plastic Hangers stance, but now that I do? Crush firmly and totally secured.

Cate Blanchett Australian not English. I beg to differ that Australian is the same thing as English. Even the Welsh and the Scots DO NOT like to be referred to as English. Only people from England (not the UK) are English. The British mock Americans for our ignorance and our inability to distinguish between English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish and Australian (although in fairness most of them can't distinguish Americans from Canadians).

Aside from that, got to say Cate Blanchett is one of my favorite actresses. She is so talented yet has managed not to become a diva. Kudos for her for not falling into the trap of plastic surgery. So many actresses are starting to look like Stepford Wives that it's a relief to see a natural beauty.

Not to be "Mocked", but Cate Blanchett is English as far as her blood line is concerned. Most Australians, to their service, will find their blood lines originating from the British Isles. As an American I too, luckily, can look to these same Isles to find my people.
