Yikes! What's with the new half shaved head look?

Okay, I first saw this look on Cassie (R&B singer) while
flipping through my People Magazine, then Carmen Electra and NOW
Rihanna. Honestly, what is going on? Not in my wildest dreams would
I ever let anyone take a razor to my head. And to make matters even
more confusing, they only shave one side? Yes, this look is most
definitely edgy and different, but just makes me wonder "what
were they thinking?" Or...maybe I'm just pissed off
because Rihanna still looks gorgeous with only half a head of hair
(ha)?
Would you try out this latest trend? How do you think these stars
look?

I think it's some wierd NY-LA crap, that they think will catch on in the rest of the country, it looks WHACK!!

Very 80's and not at all "new." My friends and I back in the very early 80's each had this look. It was considered chic and stylish and quite frankly we loved it. Funny but those who weren't fond of it were usually those who couldn't get away with it! Lol, we looked good - and were stylish keeping up with the trends and anything risque. Club days - in the city hot summer nights! Best party years ever...
Oh, and we're from N.Y.C.
