My father in law recently opened a museum up in Hood River Oregon. Hood River Oregon is heaven on earth. It is beautiful there. From the museum, one can see Mount Hood, which normally has snow on it year round. If you look the other way, there's Mount Adams. The city itself is quaint and hip at the same time. I personally love Hood River. In fact, we are currently moving there.
Besides the scenery, there's the museum itself. It is called the Western Antique Areoplane and Automobile Museum, WAAAM for short. What makes this museum so cool is the fact that every machine in it runs. EVERYTHING! Most of the airplanes and cars have pans under them to catch the oil that drips out of them. There is not only the antique airplanes, but there is a military section which has military jeeps with fifty caliber machine guns on them (no the guns do not work, it is illegal).
There's also a few motorcycles there. One of them is a 1927 Harley Davidson, an original! So, if you need to take a vacation and you're looking for a beautiful place to stay, come to Hood River. You will see what I mean when I say how beautiful it is. You may also want to check out the museum, there's a small fee to get in so they can keep it going. They do give airplane rides and there are events that go on through out the year. To find out more information about it, go to: WAAAMuseum.org.
