Big bucks for the Jolie-Pitt baby photos going to charity: Why aren't all celebs this awesome?

If you haven't already heard (aka been living under a rock), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie welcomed the latest addition to their massively-growing brood over the weekend -- this time twins Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline. And honestly, I really love the unusual yet kind gorgeous names, which are said to mostly come from various family names (Marcheline is Angelina's late mother's name, for one).

But as soon as these two little bundles of joy came into the world, the newest media scramble became: How much will someone pay for the first photos of the Jolie-Pitt babes? Celebrity baby photos are BIG business these days. Jennifer Lopez gave hers up for $6 million, and even little Jamie-Lynn Spears parted with exclusive shots for no less than a cool million. The new Jolie-Pitt pics are said to go for no less than $11 million with a likely price tag of close to $20 million. Nuts!

The amazing thing about these two is that, the last time they sold off baby snaps after the birth of daughter Shiloh, they took that insane paycheck of $4.1 million and gave it to African children's charities. So basically they translated that fool's money that People and others were willing to pay out, and gave it to people who really needed it. How novel!

Now, taking a look over this list of the top 10 most expensive celebrity baby photos, I'm adding up roughly 25.6 million bucks (Shiloh included) that could go toward some very worthy causes instead of toward another pair of Laboutins or yacht vacation. Allow me to get on my soapbox a second. Think how much that much money could do to help the problem of world poverty or the pain and suffering of victims of war. Think how many Darfurian refugees that could feed. Think how much healthcare it could provide for not just people abroad, but also people here in the US!

So, say what you will about Brad and Angelina's decision to sell of their little ones' pictures to the highest bidder, but at least that incredibly irrational amount of money that some moron is willing to pay will go to very good use.

Do you think that more celebs should follow their lead and give up some of those big baby bucks for good? And while you're commenting, tell us what you think of the twins' colorful names. You love them like I do, or not so much?

What else can one say, they are the most perfect couple I ever seen or heard of in my entire life.

Brad- Jolie, you are the best. God blessed the Day the two of you were chosen to act in Mr and Mrs Smith. Please DON'T let us down. I believe in You both.

As for your gesture concerning the money made from the sales of your babies' photos, wow, am just short of words. Congrats on the delivery of your babies.

    Wow, how thoughtful of them...

Just another way of drawing angelic (do gooder) images to draw away from the truth. They are both cheats. No ill feeling here for the kids though - they have nothing to do with this and I'm glad they are all well and healthy. I do not hate this couple but do not think they are "the perfect couple." Hey, if I were in the public eye and my future depended on the publics view on me I'd seriously hire my own cameramen to follow me 24/7 carrying my truckload of kids as well as saving disaster sites and donating tons of money to good causes. It's quite a smart move on their part.

Those that donate (and yes there are many) who are fortunate and can do not publicly announce it for the world to see and hear. Caring about a cause and people only becomes public knowledge when you want to draw negative attention from yourself. And that's what all this "bull" is about. For all of you that suck it up - it's somehow funny to watch. And seriously who cares about their children's name?? Again, If I were a celebrity, someone with status, I wouldn't share my child's name or faces with the world. Tacky and seeking much needed approval. Just my opinion.

What a nice way of selling your children. At least some children abroad will not have to go without while america's children remain unseen and unhelped. Has no one been taught that charity begins at home? When will our children be helped by celebrity's whom we made famous? I applaud brad and angelina for loving their children but it also brings to mind that beneath every beautiful rose there's also thorns.

I think that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are smart. They know that if they don't do official baby photos, then the paparazzi are going to hound them day and night trying to get a snapshot of the babies. They might as well sell them and donate the money to a worthy cause. I have to respect the fact that at least they donate the money to charity.

As to the names, I think Vivienne Marcheline is a beautiful name. Not so keen on Knox Leon. It sounds like the name of a professional boxer to me. I guess they had to keep up the tradition of each son's name ending in X. (Maddox, Pax...)

It really upsets me when people bad mouth this couple. I love Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Yes, they have a past. She was wild and unconventional. But people change. I applaud her for putting her past behind her and growing as a woman. Yes, he was married when they met but that does not mean they started a relationship then. He was probably already contemplating moving on when they met. Sometimes it just takes a catalyst for you to take the final step and leave. I know I've been there. They are wonderful parents and a caring people. Their family life and philantrophy show this. And for all you people who think that they just support foreign causes, obviously you forgot about their work helping rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.

For my part, I think that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are smart. I saw Angelina's hot pics posted at the millionaire singles club interracialloving dot c0m. a few days ago. She created a profile there saying she wants to find a nice gentleman there.
