Hillary Duff to star in "90210" remake? Good or bad?

Rumor has it that Hillary Duff has been approached to star in the CW's remake of Beverly Hills, 90210 to play Annie Mills, a theater kid who likes emo music (this isn't much of a stretch, eh?). Not sure how I feel about this.

Just at dinner last night, a group of friends and I spent about 30 minutes talking the glory of 90210; how awesomely it fit into 90s teenage culture. Since we bid adieu to Brendan, Kelly and Steve, there have been a plethora of shows that have tried to recreate the magic. The O.C. and Gossip Girl are two successful examples, but the O.C. only lasted three seasons and Gossip Girl is still on its first. 90210 lasted a whopping TEN seasons!

But, back to Hillary Duff. Does she need to be on a TV show? I feel like she had to work so hard to shrug off the Lizzie McGuire comparisons, why jump into another pigeon hole? That being said, I am a fan of the Duffster and think she would be a fantastic addition to the show.

What do you think? [E!]

I like Hillary Duff and always thought she had a good head on her shoulders. Its sad that she needs to prove she's an accomplished person by doing another TV show. However, it is tragic that someone felt the need to re-do 90210! Why God? Why?!

i think 90210 was the show to watch back in the day, BUT, it is toooo soooon. there hasn't been enough time to miss it..... enough to want to see younger, hotter peeps playing the people we loved!! it is too soon for me to be reminded that i am getting old.

now, as for hillary duff, ehh, why not. she's an actress, she hasn't done anything for a while....she probably needs some cash....

I'm not too sure about a 90210 spin-off. Nothing against Hilary, I think she is very talented but, 90210 was the show to watch when I was a teenager and I never missed an episode. It was amazing that a teen soap lasted for ten years! I don't think the spin-off will do even half that. It will be interesting to see what they come up with though.

I think it will depend on if they make it so these people have a connection to original characters so we can have the updates on them through new cast and show. As for Duff, it's not like she is doing a lot of movies right now. I do like her and think she would be good on a show like this. Everyone is saying she shouldn't go back to tv but don't we want some of the good actors to be on tv. If we don't have some good ones the television world could become the reality tv world!!! yikes!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Do not do that!! I repeat DO NOT DO THAT!!! There is nothing that the new 90210 could address other than a friend having sex with her "best friend's" boyfirend. There's no reason for this show to even attempt a comeback. It just wouldn't work.

What about One Tree Hill... It is the closest to the old 90210 Dawson Creek genre. It's been on like four years and is relly good. If you want to get the feeling you got from those old school shows watch One Tree you won't be disapointed.
