Shine chats with...the cast of "Sex and the City"

Ladies and gentlemen, the day has come: Sex and the City opens in theaters today. It's been four long years of wondering what happened to Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda, but wonder no more -- your questions will be answered! Lucky for you, Shine's own Fashion + Beauty editor, the lovely Jennifer Romolini, sat down for a chat with the entire cast, plus writer Michael Patrick King to talk about the fans, the movie, love, and of course -- fashion! Watch the video for the interview and a preview of the film. We know you can't wait to get out of work to see it.

Long before Sex and the City, there was Natalie Wood in Sex and the Single Girl. Get the movie and watch it! The clothes are great!!!

Why did you include Jennifer Hudson in the interview? She is a minor character and the politically correct addition to the cast that really doesn't make sense. Have we forgotten that this is a movie? It was created to entertain, not to make some kind of statement on racial equality. The film was designed as a sequel to detail the lives of the characters from the long running series. Give me more time with the girls and their leading men, let me catch up with old favorites like Stanford, Marcus and Anthony, offer me some cameos with Aidan, Petrovsky or Berger, tell me what happened with Trey and Enid...SATC has so many stories to tell that would be more relevant to the show's audience, there is no need to take up time that could be better spent elsewhere by introducing another character that no one will know or even care about. No offense intended to Jennifer Hudson, I think she is very talented...it's just in this case...she's irrelevant. I realize that they added Jennifer to try and attract African American women but if African American women watched the show or bought the DVDs they did it for the friendship between the women and race didn't matter or they wouldn't have watched the show. Those women would see the movie with or without Hudson. If African American chose not to watch the show because of it's lack of African Americans then they won't be invested in the characters and won't see what is essentially a sequel - again, Hudson won't matter.

Ok I just saw the movie Carrie went from a strong woman to BIGS doormat .in the matter of 2hours.the whole preachy love conquers all crap is all through the movie its a fairy tale the characters (except for Samantha) are no longer realistic or relatable. I give credit for the people who created the hype for this movie but it was all hype .The clothes were great and the addition of Jennifer Hudson was ok, but this movie is truly vapid eye candy and left me regretting wasting the time money and a kick ass outfit and heels on this event .If your a true fan this movie symbolizes the death of common sense in women and big needs to be shot several times so I hope Carrie enjoys being a doormat for this flighty ass man warning the movie is pure hype and un realistic its Cinderella for deluded females im sooo mad at this movie. I expected so much more from it it wasn’t worth the wait. I need a cosmo!

FOR ALL THE LADIES WHO WOULD BE DISAPPOINTED IN THE MOVIE, IT'S JUST THAT, A MOVIE! NO ONE LOVES THESE LADIES MORE THAN I DO. I'M CERTAIN THE ADDITION OF JENNIFER HUDSON WAS TO ADDRESS SOME PREVIOUS ISSUES REGARDING THESE WOMENS FRIENDSHIPS, BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO ADDRESS EVERY ISSUE IN A MOVIE. SO I SAY IT'S GREAT TO SEE THESE LADIES AGAIN. THE MOVIE IS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVED THE SHOW,(AND TRUST ME IF YOU THINK THE SHOW OFFERED REALISM, CARRIE WAS PAYING $750.00 RENT FOR THAT APARTMENT) BECAUSE [WE] WERE TRULY HEARTBROKEN WHEN THE SHOW ENDED.
