This is my first blog on yahoo.
I am a writer. Nothing published yet as this is my first book. It's interesting how the first book starts. I had a dream that seemed to stay with me the next day. I decided to journal it and see if I could figure out the context. Next thing I knew I had the beginnings for a really great novel. I was lost in it for awhile, but then again my hubby, whom I love dearly, was working in the Arctic. After he came home, it was more difficult to write as we were catching up. Well readers, he is now in Dillingham, Alaska and naturally, I'm back into my book. We'll see where it and I go from here.
I am an avid lover of reading and boy do I have diverse tastes. There are so many fascinating authors out there. JR Ward, Nora Roberts, Charlene Harris, Clive Cussler, Wilbur Smith, Lara Adrian, Amanda Ashley, Karen Marie Moning, and more. One day, I hope my name is among them.
I live in and love Alaska. The last frontier though one would never know it in Anchorage, Alaska. We have all the modern amenities most cities have. You know, Mc Donald's, Taco Bell, Carr's Safeway, Walmart, and all the traffic to go with it. Anchorage doesn't really feel like a city. Maybe it's the set up. It's very difficult for one to be lost for any length of time as we're surrounded on three sides by mountains and the fourth by the sea (inlet actually). The city itself is set up strangely. There is no particular pattern. Downtown is on the coast and then they built south and so on.
The three things my hubby and I learned right off the bat are: 1. We are not the top of the food chain here. 2. Moose are not cute and we should keep our distance because they can and will kill us. 3. When the tide goes out, don't walk on the beach. This includes several rivers. We have silt and it's like quick sand. Sadly, it has taken several lives. There are places where the beaches are walkable and accessible if only for the time the tide is out. That's another story.
Well that seems to be a good beginning. Hopefully this is not boring. Giggles
