Your little trick-or-treater rounded up a supply of treats that put most grocery aisles to shame this year. Now what to do with all the left-over candy (other than simply gorge on it)? Head for the kitchen with these creative ways to cook with Halloween candy:
1. Make chocolate crepes!
Microwave Hershey bars to spread on crepes with strawberries and bananas for a French-inspired indulgence.
2. Sweeten up pancakes and waffles.
Add bits of candy bars to any batter. While you’re at it, liven up the morning with wacky molds for all your favorite breakfast foods.
3. Embellish your TV-night popcorn.
Easily make caramel popcorn by pouring melted Milk Duds or caramel chews over the pops. Or just sprinkle M&M's into a salted batch of freshly popped kernels. Mmmm-mmmm!
4. Double your cupcake decadence.
Drop Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into the center of your batter before baking. You’ll melt over the results! (Up the fun factor with these awesome baking molds!)
5. Create cookie crusts.
Got Oreo packs? Great! Then you’ve got perfect pie-crust fodder.
6. Flavor hot milk.
A little chocolate bar goes a long way in transforming everyday hot milk into a sweet treat. Just melt the candy with the milk in a pan, stir, and serve.
7. Create gourmet cocktail rims.
Crushed Jolly Ranchers, butterscotch bites, and other hard-candy make for perfect cocktail embellishments. So what if you’re technically not “cooking” with it; the results are still super cool.
8. Design amazing drinkable desserts.
Milkshakes can be taken to new heights if candy, such as Butterfinger, Snickers, or other goodies, are blended into the mix.
9. Make a romantic confection.
Melt candy bars for chocolate-covered strawberries or dip the fruit of your choice. Voila! You have your own homemade fondue creation.
10. Build the ultimate ‘Smore.
'Smores are even tastier when you use all kinds of candy bars. Re-purpose your Kit-Kats, Milky Ways, or 3 Musketeers in the graham cracker sandwiches. You don’t even need a campfire to make this treat—just pop them into the microwave!
