The new Kitchen Sync
How do you bring your recipes into the kitchen? I don't like to bring my cookbooks into the kitchen, because I don't want to get them messy. I get a lot of recipes from the internet, but I wouldn't ever bring my laptop into the kitchen, because sticky keys are no fun, and what would I do if, god forbid, something spilled on it? Generally I end up jotting each recipe down in a little notebook I have. The notebook gets flour and batter spilled on it, so my writing gets smeared... it's not an optimal solution.
So, you're wondering, what do I suggest instead? Well, there's this really cool new thing called a Kitchen Sync. No, not a kitchen sink, a Kitchen Sync! It's a small electronic book that you can view recipes on. It has a stand so it is easy for you to see the recipe, and it can connect to the internet wirelessly so all the recipes you find (on Yahoo! Food of course!) can be easily accessed in your kitchen without having to print them out or write them down. The device is flexible, and best of all, it's washable! Seriously, you can wash the entire device in the sink, so it's alright if you spill on it or touch it with your sticky fingers! Plus the device has some other cool features, like scheduling meals for the week, generating grocery lists, looking up what special tools are needed for your recipes (like blowtorches for crème brûlée), and letting you order those tools directly from the device. And you can wash the device!!! I just can't get over that... it's such a cool idea!
Unfortunately, the device is not currently available for sale. Hopefully it will be soon, and for a reasonable price so everyday cooks can buy one!
